Airmail Royal Mail prices increased.

As of this week Royal Mail have increased their international airmail prices, so please double check shopping costs before you actually post.

Letters should cost the same as before, however a large letter is now priced the same as a small parcel.

They already increased them in April, this is taking the p*** if you ask me.

This must be part of the "improved service" that came when they sold the Royal Mail off

Along with the reduction in speed that now sees it impossible to get anything next day, even 1st class unless you splash out £6+ for Special Delivery. Where I live at least, and it's not like I'm in a remote area.

It's puzzling it me why they have done this now also. It might be out of RMs hands to some degree with postal services in other countries are now charging more, or have added some additional handling fees to receive international post. Just not sure.

RM do increase postal prices every April, but this year's increase wasn't that huge compared to the complete parcel size restructure and pricing updates the year before.

Don't blame RM for the postage costs though... blame the price of petrol, the reduction in the number of people posting letters, and also the unfair way the market was opened up to the competition a few years ago.

We are still one of the cheapest in Europe though.

They don't know anything about this in my Post Office here in Westerham where I work

I posted a package to Portugal today and the price was the same as I remember last time.
