I vote NO.Harrison said:A frontpage portal. Nothing complicated, just something to show the latest 10 items and wanted ads placed on the site. Plus announcements regarding Amibay.
I have replied in the other thread, and we'll see how others feel and what decisions the team (ultimately the admins) come to. It's certainly up for discussion.Friends of AmiBay.

Failing to read or understand the rules is your own look-out. If there is anything that you want clarification on, asking before posting is a good idea - it's the mature thing to do.
As for the template idea, we don't know what sort of things people want to post, and I feel that it is appropriate to allow people to express themselves in their own way. If a post is unclear, then a question or comment from a moderator can clear that up swiftly and most people will not need to be prompted more than once or twice.
There is a difference between this site and other Amiga community sites with a For Sale forum - we have no other purpose. We are not trying to establish a chat site, this is not a news site, we expect our users to continue with their regular sites
I hope that AmiBay will be convenient to use and will become a preferred place to list, as the uncluttered interface will make it fast and easy.
Stating your price is in the Rules. If you *require* repetitive moderation of your posts, well - you won't last long.
As for wasting my time, I have plenty of it... Also, pre-approving all listings would, in my opinion, be far more work for the moderators than just picking up on the faulty ones.
You did, when you mentioned aw.net here.DoctorQ said:Who have talked about a chat site?? Or a news site??
Care to work out the percentages?Sorry, but I already feel it is cluttered. It seems like half the posts in the adverts are from moderators trying to guide the users into the right direction. And why? Because the user haven't even read the posting guidelines!
Suggestions and feedback on the site are welcome. Our aim is to provide the best site that we can.Anyway, I'll just let it be at was it was; a suggestion. I'm just glad the someone has more spare time than me.
