Batch 2 design...
Fan mount - will be a 3D printed add on - for 2 x 30mm fans

Removable CPU card plate..
Here's my issue..

I try to design for all concepts.
CPU card and / or Floppy drives.

The problem is.... if I add a removable plate for the CPU card, that plate will `have` to sit over a cut-out on the main panel.
The top of this panel would be `its thickness` higher than the main plate. This means floppy drives would be about 1.2-1.5mm too high!

Ok, for those who want to put the CPU card in, may not be using a floppy drive in some cases, but for those who are not using a CPU card, but are using floppies - could be an issue.

Just a thought though.....
If I were to make the removeable panel with holes to attach the floppy drives directly to - that may work...
But it would still stand - CPU card or Floppy*.

* - I respect that some CPU cards may well fit height-wise - but cooling the card is the issue - Maybe the addition of the fans could help?

Please give feedback on ideas.

I am definitely getting a CPU card of some sort. I don't have my floppy drive in my case any more, occasionally I will plug in a gotek, but i run it with the case off and seal it up when I'm done. I'm for designing it for the cpu card.

Never had problems with CPU cards -> I'm fine with the current approach.

To remove height for inserts, you could use a step bead to hold the insert.

I'm a dual floppy user, so any CPU card will have to fit under it with the floppy drives in place.

All who have declared interest, are added to my list.
Protoype being made hopefulyl by the end of the week - then I`ll test. If all fits together well, I`ll get quotes for 30 kits or so (14 declared currently) - and then let people know the costs.

The new design consists of the two main panels as before (with changes) and a choice of 0,1 or 2 floppy drive/fan mounts. as well as a 3D printed fan mount.

I`ll be offering the following:
The 2 panels as a standard kit.
and then optional extras :
Floppy drive mount (doubles as a 40/80mm cooling fan mount too) - up to 2 can be used per Amiga 3000.
3D print to mount 2 x 30mm fans in line with the daughterboard.
