Hi everyone,

A friend of mine has Peppermint Linux and wants to emulate the Amiga for playing games. I've no clue about Linux stuff, so I thought I ask you guys a question. Which is the best and easiest emulator/front-end to set up on Linux? Basically he's looking for a "plug-and-play" solution. He has very little experience with the Amiga other than gaming.

Thanks in advance for your help.

You also have EUAE and UAE but PUAE is kept upto date with the aim to be just like winuae. I think amigasys has a package you can stick on a USB stick and it boots Linux right into a working Amiga OS.

With Linux plug and play does not really exist tbh.

Amiga on linux is no where as advanced as it is on Windows sadly, but it wont be too long until it is.

I find emulators on linux behind the ones on windows in general to be honest. Some windows emu's can be used through WINE though.
