I just returned after a long time stuck outside Australia thanks to the pandemic - I placed three orders with Amiga Kit for cables in 2020 (June, October and December) and I was shocked upon my recent return to discover that none of them have been delivered. A further check on their site says the first order was 'Collected and Sent' and the two subsequent orders are 'Pending'.

I always found their delivery was slow which didn't really bother me as in the middle of the pandemic I wasn't able to return home to use them for quite some time but 19 months should be enough to get an order delivered surely?

Has anyone had any recent experience with them? Are they still trading? Are there widespread problems or just me? There are quite a few dollars in the orders I placed, I'm a bit concerned to say the least.

Amigakit are still trading as an entity but are banned from advertising their products here at Amibay.

To quote Sardine who was dealing with this at the time ...

they were banned for lack of communications here at Amibay, ignoring threads ( In breach of the site rules , after reading them ), ignoring contact from Amibay staff via pm or email ( which is in breach of the rules )

what Amigakit do with their sales has nothing to do with Amibay and we are not the complaints department for an external business.

BUT!!!!!!!!!! when they break site rules from another thread. ( We gave them 2 months to respond to ANYTHING )

My best advice is to contact them directly using the details shown on their webpage.

I thought I would post an update on what has happened the last couple of months.

February 26 I contacted AmigaKit by email after my last post here letting them know that I had three orders from 2020 that were not delivered.
February 28 the first of the three orders was delivered, I sent an email to let them know that I had received it, but that I really needed the remaining two orders.

March 3 I received a response from AmigaKit. "Hi, Really sorry for the delay on this. We are still struggling to clear covid backlog. My colleague is still in the process of assembling your 50+ cables. So with luck should be on there way to you within the next week or so.".
March 28 No updates on their site indicating the orders had been shipped, I sent an email "I just thought I would check if you'd had a chance to send out the cables yet"

April 7 No reply from AmigaKit so I send a quick follow up email
April 24 No reply still. Another follow up email also asking if they can't send the orders soon can they please refund the orders

May 3 Still no reply, another follow up email
May 5 (Today) Formal email requesting a refund for these two orders

So, two months with no communication, 18 months after the first order was placed, 16 months after the second order, they still haven't been shipped according to their website.

Today I have sent a formal request for a full refund for these orders. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt in that mistakes happen and orders can get misplaced or forgotten. Communication has clearly been less than satisfactory, though I do hope that they will do the right thing and promptly refund the orders.

I placed an order for an IDE-CF adapter on April 29, but after about 3 weeks haven't received a shipping notification or a response to a request to cancel the order. I went through PayPal to get the order refunded just now.

I've definitely gotten orders from them in the past, though. Hope everyone's OK over there!

You are not the first to encounter problems with Amigakit, and I doubt you will be the last.

Try a wanted advert in the forum first, you never know if people here have spares that they are willing to part with.

^^ the above reasons was why they was banned from Amibay, simply lack of communications and "Ignoring", as an ex admin I could see when and who from Amigakit was reading the messages, so they had time to open Amibay website / navigate to their thread / read the post but not reply to ANY queries from our members.

simply awful behaviour from what was once a respectable seller here on Amibay very sad indeed and a loss, 1st and foremost the above posts justified them being removed as a seller here at Amibay to protect our members who very unfortunately had to go the routes of paypal to get their money back. sad indeed.

I too have orders pending and no response. The phone number responds with a foreign language. They use to be so great, I ordered from them for years & got support. Alas no more. The website is now a scam.

I ordered a 512kb trapdoor ram expansion from AmigaKit the end last year and had no troubles receiving. My only gripe was there was an issue with the board in which they quickly resolved when I mentioned PayPal dispute

ive ordered twive recently, veryslow to process/despatch but got the stuff eventually after a couple of weeks
