Weird-o-rama.

I noticed with the TF330 plugged into my CD32 that the sound progressively gets quieter and quieter over a period of about 30 minutes until you can barely hear it any more..... as soon as I remove the TF330 the volume is at full again.

I have tried the TF330 on THREE seperately newly recapped CD32's and it exhibits the same behaviour on all three. I tried two brand new power supplies (in addition to an original one), same behaviour.

Could this is a weird heat related issue?

Is this card a lemon in the same league as the Furia?

So, so weird.....

Are you using IDE to SD adapter ? as these have known to cause some low volume problems

Using my TF330 and a CF card and had State of the Art on loop and no sound problems at all

Actually, yes, I am using an IDE to SD adapter..... I will try with a CF Card instead..... I wonder how that could cause low volume..... and is just the CD32, or the TF330 that suffers from this?

This is very interesting..... and weird. :)

That is soooooo weird. That was definitely the problem. Switching to a CF card fixes the problem issue..... but how could using an IDE to SD interface cause system volume to slowly reduce to zero? Anyone have a theory as to why this happens. This has to be the weirdest and most fascinating quirk I have yet come across.

BTW - thanks for your help Supes, you really lived up to your moniker. :)

Glad you found the issue, the IDE to SD adapter board is crammed with components and the issue definitely lies with something on the board, where as the IDE to CF is basically just a straight through put this why it has been popular with Amigans for decades.

I had the exact same issue as this and it was driving me nuts for months, sound volume would suddenly drop by vastly varying degrees, or slightly distorted compared to output from A4000T. The problem was the 3.5" IDE to SD adaptor in my Elsat Pro Module, switched over to CF and it never happened since. I then had it happen on a separate CD32 with a different 2.5" IDE TO SD adaptor, this time swapping it over to new adaptor of the same type fixed the issue. There is something very weird about these SD adaptors going bad and causing this issue.
