Hi,

I have a problem with a CD32: sound does not work (or not really). To hear something, I need to increase the sound volume of my speakers to 100% (on my other Amiga's, if you do that my neighbours would call the police about the noise ).

It is like the sound is not amplified. Is there any chips on the CD32 which can die and lead to this behaviour ? FYI, all capacitors have been already changed.

Thanks.

My first suggestion would be caps but if you've recently re-capped it would be highly unlikely.

If it's not SMD, reseat the custom chips?

a fault in the audio circuit , bad caps , wrong caps or other failing parts in the audio circuit ...

all you can do is test / examine it.

Thanks for your help mates :)

I will try to find the required equipment.

Cheers.

when you changed the caps... any sign of leakage? They are prone just as the 4000 due to cheap caps being used in 1993/94.

Have you checked all caps with a meter when they were replaced?

its strange a few peaple have reported sound problems after a re-cap.

you could trace it back through the sound circuit, check via's ground points and the op amp.
