Declaring Interest and the Interest Queue

Update:
Multi item feature

Update: Expired interest feature

Original launch announcement:

Some members seem to struggle with the way to correctly ‘Declare Interest’ so comraider has been working on an add-on to assist with the process.

This will make it easier to see your place in the queue and for Ops to see who is next inline.

There is an option to add text and then by selecting the ‘Declare Interest’ button your Statement of Interest and any text you type in the prompt will be added to the Topic.

A Widget will be added to the side of the first post within the topic displaying all the members that have declared/withdrawn interest and their position in the queue.

There is also a Horizontal Widget at the bottom of the thread which also shows the order and status of interest declared.

The same process can be used to remove your declared interest by selecting the ‘Withdraw Interest’ button and this will update the queue widgets.

If/when you are first in the queue you will receive a notification to alert you to the fact.

This system will only work if all members use the relevant buttons when declaring/withdrawing interest.

This will not be available for old threads but will be activated on all new threads from Monday 8th August

Looks good! Will it stop "Declaring interest for my friend / father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate" ?

No and it won't stop you hitting the button by mistake like I did earlier :ROFLMAO:

I declared interest in an item moments ago. There was not a green button to press, only the Post reply button was available. What am I not understanding?

The buttons won’t show on threads created prior to 8th August

That makes sense. Thank you for your response.
Thanks for the feedback! For older threads where the feature isn't available, you'll now see some text to explain that you need to declare interest manually.

I see that you mentioned the fact that this feature is available for posts after August the 8th in the original announcement. I did read the announcement but that detail did not register. So thank you for your patience.

This is a nice add-on to have, but I believe it needs an improvement. There should be an option (from the seller probably), when a buyer receives the item in question, to be removed from the queue list. This is of course handy, when more than one items are for sale.

Yep, this work is underway already :)

Happy to announce that this functionality is now available.

Sellers now see a button next to a user in the interest queue. Clicking on this button will allow the seller to mark that transaction as completed, and moving everyone below them up one spot in the queue.

Example, item for sale with 3 users interested:

Seller marks one of them as being sold/complete:
