Yup! , getting bored deleting threads or explaining rules because some of you are getting lazy

It's 3 Items of proof written on a piece of paper in 1 of your supplied photo's with the Item.
If you have many different items then the piece of paper must be shown in as many photo's as there are different items.

for example your selling a C64 set and photo 1 is the C64 with your proof, If the 2nd photo contains the disk drive on its own the proof needs be displayed there also and for every photo that contains different Items.

1:- The word "Amibay" cleary displayed

2:- Your forum name

3:- the date the item is listed for sale

Only adding 1 or 2 of these requirements will result in your thread being deleted without warning even with declared interest or not no matter the age of the thread or you length of membership.

Thank You.

Main reason we delete non compliant threads is

1:- its just too much work. The back and forth opening or closing the thread for the op to update. It’s not in real time so the delays in the back and forth can cause issues while we wait for the op to update the sales thread with the required info while other members are declaring when they shouldn’t and the ones waiting to declare correctly get pushed down the queue. ( phew!!!! Breath!! )

2:- Negotiating ( arguing as in a recent thread then banned ) with the op with what they need to do because they didn’t actually read the rules just ticked the box.

3:- Remembering the actual threads and the conversations with multiple mods. With my brain that’s a defo no. 😀

4:- warned and warned and warned and warned and warned and warned ………… you get the idea. Just don’t listen and it’s everyone else’s fault or our rules are stupid. Pfft!!! Yawn.

5:- simply deleting the invalid thread solves points 1 to 4. One click. With a reason ( we can let the OP know why ). “No proof of ownership”
Job done. Easy peasy

Also to note. If you declare interest on a sales thread without the above = Declared interest gone. Something everyone needs to consider when they look at sales posts 👍🏻 Before declaring interest on 😬

@Boing-ball

Sometimes we catch the problem before anyone has declared interest and gently remind the seller of their obligations.

However, I am more than happy not to give any future warnings - just lock and/or delete the thread if that's what Admin prefers.

The mods and admin had a discussion and we agreed on a zero tolerance policy a while ago but, still myself, @davideo and I think @Timtheloon and maybe even @Sardine gave members the opportunity to add the proof rather than delete.

This has been an ongoing struggle for some time so hopefully the new amendments will help. :)

I agree. Zero tolerance. That's the only way we'll learn. Dogs learn through repetition. Once, twice, three times.. Why not us? 😊

Well I don’t blame you. You guys do this stuff for free for us. There are so many hours in the day etc… So can see how frustrating it must be where the time is being taken up. Best us normies can do us report anything seen. Those who declare interest need to do due diligence before declaring…

Cheers for what you do 👍🏻

I have noticed that some members who don't need to provide proof of ownership are actually posting it :)

Is it time that we made all members provide proof when selling items?

No you won't do that 😄
You'll have to delete most of the new sales threads! Chaos..

Or simply set a definite date that the rule comes into force, making sure all know about it. After that time, there's no excuse.

To avoid any confusion, 1st of January 2025 looks perfect - it cannot be misunderstood in both EU and US date formats.

1.1.2025 / 1/1/2025

It goes without saying that if this did happen it would be a fixed date and only threads after that date would be affected.

I'll create a poll when I get a chance and let's see what our members think

Simple rules are being violated every day. How long have these rules been in place? I think you will make forum management more difficult for quite a while.
How many members are active?
Do you think more than 5% will participate in the vote?

Well, I think the system is good enough as it is.

I don't think it's the way to "punish" old members who sell regularly for some new members that will make a sale or two and then disappear. There should be some motivation for doing good.

@kixs

It's not "punishment" if something goes board-wide. Everyone would be in the same situation as everyone else in regards to selling their goodies here.
