Great Gazzoo!
Here in Canada,
The Flintstones ran on TV at Noon Every weekday from 1974 (could have been earlier) until 199x (when they replaced it with local news). If you are my age, you basically watched them at lunch time since it was the only kid show on at lunch. They had a few Theatrical movies also - A man Called Flintstone (James Bond spoof) comes to mind along with a few others.
Also, we had 2 Theme parks In British Columbia- One in Kelowna, and one in Chilliwack, called "Flintstone's Bedrock City" both closed in the 1990's

Hehe - the Flintstones along with Scooby Doo were what I remember watching of a Saturday morning in the mid to late 70's :)

Fantastic stuff!

John

I had never seen this clip before today, but was shocked having grown up with the Flintstones..! :)

Saturdays during the 80s were re-runs of Flipper and Happy Days for me! :D

Hmmm.. 70's TV, eh? How about....

Magpie, The Banana Splits, The Double Deckers, The Tomorrow People, The White Horses, Robinson Crusoe, The Aeronauts, Danger Island, The Arabian Nights, Lift-Off with Ayesha, Skippy (did they ever fix that :censored: helicopter? LOL), Black Beauty, The Flaxton Boys, Please Sir!

I could go on and on......

/[oldfart off]

here in Canada we had the Flinstones and the Jetsons....but mostly i remember the early 80s
After school He Man, GI Joe, Transformers. GoBots
Saturdays, PacMan, Richie Rich, Smurfs, Snorks...Scooby Doo...

Ooh! does anyone remember Rocket Robin Hood? That just jumped into my head....

starts singing "Band of brothers marching together, heads held high in all kinds of weather.... Give a joyous shout throughout the land for Rocket Robin Hood....."

I think that cartoon was Canadian...

All I can think of is the Red Dwarf episode 'Backwards'... Perhaps I've been watching Red Dwarf just too much, if that's possible...

I concur. Red Dwarf is a fantastic series, I can watch them over and over again. Just a pity it came to an end after series 8. The short series Back To Earth done by the Dave Channel did'nt really fill in the missing gaps. Still good though.

Toaster: Howdy doodly do. How's it going? I'm Talkie, Talkie Toaster, your chirpy breakfast companion. Talkie's the name, toasting's the game. Anyone like any toast?
Lister: Look, I don't want any toast, and he doesn't want any toast. In fact, no one around here wants any toast. Not now, not ever. No toast.
Toaster: How 'bout a muffin?
Lister: Or muffins. Or muffins. We don't like muffins around here. We want no muffins, no toast, no teacakes, no buns, baps, baguettes or bagels, no croissants, no crumpets, no pancakes, no potato cakes and no hot-cross buns and definitely no smegging flapjacks.
Toaster: Aah, so you're a waffle man.

Quality! :D

:D Classic

+1 to "Boys from the Dwarf"

RIMMER: Step up to red alert!
KRYTEN: Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb.
RIMMER: There's always some excuse, isn't there?

You can never have too much of the "Boy's from the Dwarf" :D

Goodness, Red Dwarf is my all time favourite serie :) So entertaining and original, and I believe even Steven Hawkin likes it as a lot of the scientific ideas within the series do make sense and are connected with science (probably loosely!) so I am lead to believe:D

Kriten to Cat + Lister - 'Sir, they've taken Mr Rimmer sir'
Cat - 'Quick let's get out of here before they bring him back'

Totally agree
Even series 8 although I wasn't too keen at the time, is actually very good, the 'Kriten TV' episodes is actually one of the funniest I think!
My all time favourite episode, has to be the one with this despair squid, pure creative genius to mind. Very clever and very funny Red Dwarf at it's absolute best :)
Cat - "Dwain Dibbly?????????????!!!!!!!! how on earth can I be Dwain Dibbly...."

Back in the original Miggy days there were floppy discs doing the rounds with loads of Red Dwarf quote wave files; did anyone else have these on floppy disc at the time....?

*Cough*

Talk about how many post's Off Topic??

Wasn't the OP referring to the nature of programs for kids back then & the Politically Correct Idea they have these days of insisting kids wear Safety Glasses when playing Conkers in the playground? - Can't call a Snowman a Snowman anymore 'cos it's a Snow-person?

@ ad-rs1600i

Magic Roundabout was another. Written by University Stoner's high on Weed.

Andy Pandy & the Flower Pot men. More Weeeeeed!

Heck, it got soooo bad, we Ended up with Captain Pugwash cartoon where you had Seaman Staines & Master Bates.

These day's, you have to be careful about publicising a Picture of a Black man with flies on him.

I better stop but there are shed loads more & let's not even talk about Rainbow. :shhh:
