Has anyone experienced a suspension because of ebays DSR policy? Basically buyers can rate sellers on a 1-5 scale and if a seller gets low scores (more than 3 in a certain time period) for a basic seller then eBay will ban the account from selling. Ive been reading up on this and hundreds are being banned, some of them being business sellers with employees that have thousands of 100% feedback ratings but a few low star scores!
It just doesnt make sense why eBay would leave sellers accounts in the hands of the buyers. It doesnt take much to get a few problem buyers and then boom your no longer allowed to sell. Its also open to abuse should you have a dispute with someone and them, along with some friends, decide to get your account closed on purpose. Ive noticed that most sellers are being banned due to dispatch time, well ebay gives the seller the option to choose upto 10 days dispatch time but lets say the seller gives 3 days dispatch time and sends the item on the third day, however the buyer isnt happy about this or didnt bother to read it so they leave the seller a 1 or 2 rating which is bad, but the seller has done everything by the book so it isnt fair that they should get this rating and be one step closer to suspension just because the buyer didnt bother to read all of the information. Also if you get one bad buyer who leaves negative feedback, are they really going to rate the seller fairly? No they would just leave low scores right accross the board.
I remember when the star rating system first kicked in, it was a good gimmick and still would be if it was there to show how well sellers are doing. But to be suspending good honest sellers when theres really no need is a complete joke.
It looks like eBay is its own worst enemy. I beg for the day another auction site comes along that destroys eBay. It shouldnt be biting the hand that feeds it.
