^ when I ordered mine a couple of months ago I sent an email to Krikkz and kindly asked when the sd2snes will be available again... he gave me a heads up when he had built some and got mine from the 2nd batch :)
you can also monitor his twitter, he put the announcement there at the same time : https://twitter.com/krikzz

Well, when I go to his "contact" page, he has this up there immediately.

"I DO NOT SELL SD2SNES. I am not involved in the distribution process. Do not contact me about pre-orders."

So I think if I then went on and asked about sd2snes it would be kind of rude. So I guess the thing to do is keep checking on some of the sites for when preorders might open up again.

edit: Oh I only now realized there *is* a german shop offering possibility to preorder sd2snes. We well see if I will receive it before same time next year though so I am still in the market for Super everdrive as it will probably be available sooner. Should be quite easy to sell super everdrive after I receive sd2snes. I guess this is going slightly off topic, but what game would be good donor cart for sd2snes plain circuit board edition?

Also, is it possible to put a naked everdrive or sd2snes to the cart slot the wrong way around and thus destroy it? I think this is certain to happen with a little alcohol mixed to snes gaming :)

Donor carts are the carts you see on the other bay going for pennies with free postage  All the standard shaped shells are the same internally, so any you can grab

Having looked around, if you were to insert a cart backwards it will likely take your console out (it will fuse) I'm unsure if the cart itself would be affected too.

If this happens btw, heres the fix...

Be aware that I cant say whether the cart would survive though!

If you are getting numbers together put me down for a super everdrive please neo. Thats my only definite although i may grab another after checking funds ;-)

Thats actually not a bad idea... If people want to state what theyre interested in now, and dont mind doing it again 'officially' in another thread once I get the prices, I can use that information to give Krikzz a more accurate estimate.

I have a few theoretical questions if you don´t mind. Can Super Everdrive run Super Gameboy carts rom file and then go on to further load some Gameboy roms from SD card?

Alternatively, is there such a thing as a Gameboy Everdrive that I could use with an actual Super Gameboy cart?

Is rom size of games a factor that I should consider? As in, are there games that are just too big to run on Super Everdrive with dsp-1? (Not counting games with other special chips that are not supported anyways)

I saw sd2snes running some kind of video player in some video I can´t remember the url of. Anyways, if I understood correctly, its kind of a computer (fpgra chip) inside a snes cart. Would it be possible to run emulators such as a nes emulator with a combination of sd2snes and snes?

Found this direct from Krikzz on another forum...

"[it is]impossible to run gb games on everdrive. super gameboy really have all gameboy components inside, so snes used only as screen and controller"

There may be emulators which can be run through the everdrive but I'm unaware of any at this moment in time. Someone else may know more.

N64 everdrive this time around methinks...even if it is the most expensive one :/

heh, not anymore it isnt  The Mega Everdrive takes that throne based on the prices at retrogate.

...Totally worth it though :D

i think i may be interested in the snes, megadrive and n64 :-) and then sell all of my carts that im not too fussed about to pay for them, win win win really

I think I have the opposite strategy, get the everdrive for convenience and collect a fine collection of real carts to display on a shelf.

I think I want to get a complete collection of Super FX games at the very least. Should be a reasonably doable goal.

I'm interested in a Super Everdrive for Super Famicom (I'm guessing it should work on the Sharp SF-1 right)?

On the web site you can specify if you want a shell and storage card, is that option available on group purchase or will that to confusing?

Adding your own shell to a SNES or N64 Everdrive is very easy. I just found some carts on eBay for 99p + free postage with good condition cases to use as donation shells. You need a special screwdriver bit to unscrew the Nintendo specific screws, and I have the proper screwdriver bit, but you can easily make your own homebrew screwdriver for the job out of a Biro. As for making the hole for the SD card slot, I just used a sharp modelling scalpel to cut the desired slot into the shell. Very easy.

As for SD cards. For SNES you won't need anything larger than a 4GB SD card and you can pick these up for next to nothing these days.

Group buy is for the boards only I'm afraid as they're technically wholesale purchases. As Harrison pointed out however, placing them in a shell from a donor cart is relatively straight forward. The most difficult part is creating the holes for the SD cart and any other ports your chosen Everdrive may have.

As pointed out previously though I would be happy to do this for anyone who doesnt mind chucking a few tokens at me for my time. The whole process takes me about 30 mins from removing the label to creating the slots and getting the Everdrive in the shell. I happen to have the tools here from when I did mine last group buy.

The ones I did previously can be seen here (I sold them on about 6 weeks back in anticipation of upgrading to the more advanced ones this coming group buy)

Hey guys. I have some unfortunate news...

Due to the outcome of what I discovered here:

https://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?p=355529#post355529

I will no longer be taking responsibility for the group buy.

Though I have been assured the devices themselves do not contain anything of the same nature as the ones mentioned in that thread, it is an unacceptable risk on my part to be responsible for importation of such a large number of units. So I'm afraid I'm stepping down.

I apologise wholeheartedly to everyone looking forwards to this.

Amineo.

Why not just do the group buy for Non-Nintendo Everdrives? The ruling only concerns those. Also, I don't think Everdrive's themselves are of concern to Nintendo anyway as they are mostly interested in stopping devices for current systems... ie the DS and 3DS.

I understand where you're coming from Harrison, the likely hood of anything becoming of any of it is extremely slim. However being a comp-sci student who would like to work in the software industry, I really would rather not 'risk it'. It means too much to me.

If you want to take over however you're welcome to.

Can you PM me some details about the group buy and contact details and I will have a think about it?
