I guess, I´ll not need the everdrive after all. sd2snes seems like is easier and sooner available than I previously thought.

Can you PM me some details about the group buy and contact details and I will have a think about it?

any news on this one...? do you think you can take up the group buy...?

as said before the bill only actually covers devices running on Nintendo hardware, namely the DS.

I am sure that a box of unknown circuit boards being imported is going to be of much interest to customs... i know people who are getting boards made in China all the time and have no problems. Are they really going to know that they are flash carts for a 25 year old gaming system.

Besides, the difference with the R4 and M3 cards is they come boxed stating exactly what they are for... I can't believe the Turbo Everdrives will do.

With the greatest of respect to everyone, youre all going to run pirate roms on these flash carts, so why the concern about the DS ruling? Nintendo could just as easily come after you for the pirate roms.

@Taj

It doesn't work that way, the ruling in question pertains to the import and sale of the DS transflash technologies lists.

The primary reason that Nintendo managed to get a ban on the sale of these specific set of products is because they contain copyright code (owned by Nintendo) to circumnavigate the security measures (encryption) that Nintendo had emplace to reduce the financial damage that unlicensed (copyright infringing) and counterfeit software cartridges from China.

In the case of the EverDrive systems from Krizz, as far as I know they do not contain any proprietary code under copyright from Sega, Hudsonsoft, Nintendo for any of the products.

While they could be used to infringe the copyright of some game publishers, they are equally usable as development platforms, home-brew and your legal back-up of software.

Some software publishers have even embraced the platform as such i.e. Peir Solar with the option to buy a digital download.

Zetr0,
I realise they can be used for home brew and development but realistically, they are used for running unauthorised roms more often than not. Im not having a go at anyone, just making a point in light of the Nintendo ruling and the reason for not continuing with this group buy.

I wouldn't be too bothered about the DS ruling, that's been in effect for quite a while (over a year? Maybe even a couple of years). If it was going to affect the everdrive cards- it would have done it by now. If customs open it up, what will they see ? A bunch of pcbs that don't really mean much, tbh.

Anyway, I'd probably be interested in a snes everdrive if it's still going ahead, how much are they?

AmiNeo, you did a fantastic job before- and the DS thing was just as active then!!!

Yes Yes I'm in. Is there a possibility to get the SD2SNES? If not a SNES Everdrive hmmm could be... but it will leave me starving a little ;) :D

Sorry guys my decision on this is final, I have too much to lose even in the face of the smallest unlikely risk. The only reason I have kept this thread open is in case anyone else responsible enough steps up.

No more messages trying to persuade me back into it please. I have Uni to think about and that's stressful enough for me. :)

Nightmare, came on board too late for one of these group buys. Although maybe a good thing as I would want everything.
