I would suggest to keep away from Easy AMOS. It's a very light version of AMOS Pro or similar, but it's very limited. For example, AMAL (AMOS Animation Language) is missing completely plus other usuful things and commands.

i have the adf of amos pro i think , im trying to find a manual at the mo, think i may of...

Don't forget to find the update disk of AMOS Pro, to update it to 2.0 version.

Amos pro it is then.

am i correct in saying it wont work on AGA or accelerated amigas?

ok thank you, i may have that tooo

It will work on AGA Amigas (thus the 2.0 update is somewhat mandatory), but you will not be able to create AGA games of course.

I'm running AMOS Pro 2.0 in my A1200 with Blizzard MKIV 030/50MHz + 64MB Fast RAM without any problems at all.:)

It works within reason on my 4000D 040 with RTG.

Menus sometimes play up with it.

It can't do AGA graphics but will work on AGA machines. I think you need an add-on for AGA graphics.

I think that it was never released such an add-on for AGA via AMOS Pro, unfortunately.

oh thats good news then, thank you gentlemen...

im not that interested in AGA anyway but it would be good if anything i did ran on all Amiga's

even if i only get a dot or a word on screen!

:-)

Don't forget AMOS Pro Compiler when you finish. It will compile your AMOS Pro listing in a standalone program. Also it converts your listing into assembly language (sort of), which you can gain speed of 30-40% faster than when running it from the AMOS Pro Editor.;)

prepare for some truly shocking looking games :-)

---------- Post added at 15:32 ---------- Previous post was at 15:31 ----------

is the AMOS Pro Compiler not included in Amos pro?

No you need to find the discs for that as well :D

Dave G

Yes, AMOS Pro Compiler was a standalone commercial package.

damn thats a cheap trick!

---------- Post added at 19:06 ---------- Previous post was at 18:10 ----------

okay got Amos pro

amos update
amos compiler
amos compiler update

phew! dozens of disks!

And dozens of hours of fun ahead :D

Dave G

lol yep , even go the manual on pdf :-)

i have now got amos pro update 1.13 (i think) is there a update to v2?

Yep - or at least there is in my set.

You need Amos_Pro V2 and Compiler V2.

Dave G

Edit: Just checked - you need to be Amos_Pro V2 and then run Amos_Pro_Compiler V2
