If you mean component part X25, the 22pin 2mm x2 row female, I was planning on getting one of this 25-pin connectors and cutting it down

Well, I had a long hard look around and these are pretty hard to find. You could always check auction number 181116298035 on the other bay and see if you like that, it has the correct pitch (I believe) and is also raised the correct amount off the board ensuring easy soldering and that the hard drive will fit correctly (hopefully). It looks like the support pins at each end will have to be snipped off as holes for these are not present on the GBA1000 board.
Somewhat expensive after shipping but looks like it will give the desired effect with a little work.

Looks pretty good, even with the shipping. Will need a bit of cutting and filing though. Unless I can find anything closer to home I'll probably go with that.

I've had another look tonight and I think Farnell have a SAMTEC SQT-125-01-L-D-RA receptacle that would do the job:

Seems the right pitch and would need trimming down from the 50x contacts, but looks like its £6.39 with free delivery.
Had a look on the other bay and only had up to a 30-pin samtec variant.

Anyway, I ordered the connector from the US that squareeyes found, £8.05 all in wasn't too bad really (and a drop in the ocean compared to how much money has gone into this build already). I'll post up here how I get on with it.
My GBA-1000 is complete other than this connector, powered up first time! Well, sort of: it did once I put a working Kickstart in there - damn byte swap eprom programming.. and I bought a OTP 27C4096 too by mistake, so that's in the bin now :roll:

Well that was easy - I bought it like that
I'm going to need a Xilinx programmer for the 060/Picasso/USB boards though.
The 2.5" IDE connector arrived from the US (www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181116298035) - 4 working days, pretty good.
I did have to hack the sides down a little but looks ok when fitted:
It sits at the perfect level for a 2.5" HDD.
My next problem is ... I can't see the IDE drive from HDtoolbox. I've burned the EPROM for the Oktagon controller, but how can I tell if the driver is actually loaded and working? Should I be able to see a 160GB IDE drive (smallest I could find!) from Workbench 3.1 boot floppy version of HDtoolbox on this controller? I prepped it via WinUAE ok but obviously it's not the same IDE hardware.

"Recoverable Alert: Press left mouse button to continue.
Error: 0BAD C0DE Task: 01203490"
So I assume it's at least trying to read the ROM - since with it removed, I don't get that. I've tried a couple of ROMs now with the same result. So, either a bad programmer or a problem with the board.

If you hold down both mouse buttons on boot you should see the ide controller in the add on device list IIRR. There were two roms for the ide, only one would work for me.

Not definitive proof until I connect another smaller capacity drive to it (32GB compact flash ordered..) but it does look like if you connect a 160GB IDE drive to the mainboard the SCSI boot rom throws an error and doesn't initialise.

Everything working perfectly, nothing wrong with the board at all. All my problems caused by myself - 32GB Compact Flash sorted the HDD issue. The board definitely doesn't like a 160GB IDE HDD.
Now to install into an A1000 case and get working on the addon cards.

Finally got the time to start on this project. Is it OK to use 120 Ohm @100MHz ferrite beads instead of 150 Ohms? My guess is that it won't matter, but does anyone have any more insight?
Does anyone have the JEDEC-files for the GALs and the CPLD? I can't find them anywhere. Help please!
