I could have one here on pre-order but i have resisted the temptation as i still can't seen any interest in a pad. Actually, i always use my 11' netbook at home when i am not at my desk with the heavy duty computer or when i am at work or elsewhere.
I can't use at the same time a netbook and a pad, and there is much more to do with a netbook.

forget about nexus on the arcos arnonva harrison- its awful , buggy and crashes a lot and it seems very basic. however ICS is excellent , i cannot recommend highly it enough..

right im outta here before taj comes !

:slap:lol:

Also considering a tablet for the journey to and from Uni during the winter when I cant cycle... Not sure I can justify the cost just to get some reading in though! It would be nice to utilise the time commuting better though... I'm in 2 minds... Maybe I'll keep an eye out for a used one...

From what I know the screen on the tab 2 is the only thing holding it back vs the google nexus 7. It does have a more powerful processor and better storage capacity.

The Nexus has a quad core cpu and Tegra 3 graphics, what does he tab 2 come with?

Dont forget the 5th core that saves battery life (been using for three days without charging).
Best tablet I have ever bought, worth every penny.

Amiga emulation and mame fullspeed with no frame skip, awesome.
Games for it to are awesome to, mass effect, shadowgun etc etc.

I use it work and at home, its a life saver. Means I dont need to turn on pc to check emails, forums etc etc.

Yup, same here, Ive been on Amibay on the tablet far more than on the PC, mainly because I can do it quickly and not get carried away being sat at the PC.

And yeah, good point about the secret 5th core ;) lol

You tried new firefox yet, its getting alot faster and more usable and supports flash, which chrome doesnt, :(.

I rooted mine, to install the old browser and flash plugin to get it that way.
Rooting was scary cause I screwed it up first time, luckly I was able to reinstall original firmware, then I done it right second time, :).

If anyone is looking for a cheaper tablet, I just bought an Onda VI40 Ultimate direct from China. For €150, you get a 9.7" (1024*768, 4:3) tablet which has a 1.5GHz Allwinner A10, 1GB DDR3, and 8GB storage (you can also choose 16GB or 32GB), running Android 4.0.3. I bought a cheap 16GB sd card to add to storage. I now have CM9 installed and it's extremely smooth (with Android updated to 4.0.4). Just waiting now for the announced 4.1 update.

They recently brought out the Onda VI40 Dual Core which is supposed to be very impressive, so it might be worth shelling out extra for that. I bought mine at www.chinistore.com, it came extremely well packaged and if you have any questions they'll very quickly reply to you, usually within the hour. Going from a 7" WoPad i7, this is a massive improvement and I couldn't be happier (well, maybe if I'd known about the Dual Core when buying it!). It has the same IPS screen as the iPad 2, and I always have the brightness set low, there's no reason to set it as bright as it can get, because it's so damn bright it hurts my eyes.

It's an option people should be aware of, the Chinese tablets offer much at a very low price :)

The tablet market is hotting up very nicely, which is a good thing

Must admit, I do like the look of the N7 and I am pro-Android but after testing out the iPad3 I opted for one of those. The sheer speed and lush Retina display swayed it for me.

Glad Apple are finally getting a run for their money though.

I agree, i bought an ipad 3 a few months back and though there are cheaper options they all pale in comparison

Ok Snoozy. Had mine about 3 / 4 weeks now and I really can't fault it so far. Power consumption is surprisingly low considering me and the wife are on it non stop. :)

Did you get the Apple care package with yours?

(Sorry to Tajmaster for the thread hijacking here)

No apple care, but i dont remember currys offering it to me.

I definitely think its worth buying ipads in the main stores as from what i gather they have a habit of disappearing in the postal service if ordered online to save a few ££

Since i only use mine around half hour/day the charge lasts a few weeks :)

When i move to new house i will banish my main pc from the lounge to a separate study room and the ipad3 will be the main internet resource in the lounge

I also bought a stylus from ebay to stop finger prints on screen http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221052507...NX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_1936wt_962

and this case from amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Advanced-Mu...21KQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1346086520&sr=8-1

iPads are very nice, but very over priced and too restrictive for me. Their walled garden approach to users, plus the way they keep acting within the industry completely puts me off from buying their products.

What? I am shocked nobody wants an Amiga branded tablet:p

EDIT: Looks like they stopped selling them, so they must be ULTRA RARE now.

I agree about sticking with larger stores for purchase, it's not worth taking the risk on something of this value. I got ours from Argos.

The Apple care package was a little pricey at just under 70 quid but you are covered for any return/repairs and access to a dedicated helpline for 2yrs.

Your case looks a good one. I got a 360 degree rotating case plus stylus and free screen protector for £8, so was quite pleased with that. Some of the branded cases were completely ridiculous in price!
