Nope. Upgraded to 4.4.2 on date of release and so far so good. What apps are not working for you?

No problems on 4.4.2 either so far. At least Youtube flicks play ok.

I dont have any problems but Im getting more annoyed with Google

They've removed the 2 arrows on your wifi/phone signal bars that indicate data is being transferred. Their reason is "too much CPU time" It never slowed down my quad core tablet before FFS

Of course my continuing gripe about mass storage mode is still there too.

Why cant the give you the choice to have it how you want it? I dont mind if they have the new ways as default, just let me change it all back!

I dont like Apple, so Ill never get any of their stuff. And I tried Windows phone/8 and dont like that much either. Google are just becoming more evil every day. I think I wont bother updating my devices any more as they always change stuff :(

yea thats a pain i hate it too

my app problems have been sorted by the app programers

Too much CPU time? What a load of rubbish. (And agreed on the mass storage mode thing, by the way!)

I notice that the most recent update has made my phone chug along like nobody's business, GUI-wise (though my launch-model Nexus 7 seems fine) - what on Earth could possibly have changed to make something that was incredibly smooth become so choppy? Probably not arrows next to the signal bar.

Google are really getting on my nerves with this sort of thing. My Nexus 7 (2013) is fine but when they updated it to 4.4 they made the standard email client more like the Gmail client and I hate it! I will not update my Moto G to 4.4 because of the this and the network activity thing.

Anyone know what this Cyanogen mod thing is?

Think you will find your Email company are actually using Google for their mail.
Im on Virgin, have been since 99. My email shows up as google. Very annoying, but you cant do anything about it.

Cyanogen mod is a rom update to make older and newer devices to latest android.
As Nexus is flagship google product, best to stick to the original rom. Thats why I haven't installed Cyanogen mod.

I use Hotmail with the built in client on my Nexus! Im referring to the change of interface so it now looks more like the built in GMail client :)

The Lollipop came up today. Works all right on the first gen Nexus 7. The look and feel is a bit different compared to Kitkat but nothing groundshaking.

i flashed mine to v5 2 days ago and now it comes out

it takes a while to start up tho

Which version of the Nexus 7 do you have? original or 2013 version?

v5 hasn't been pushed to my original Nexus 7 yet, but I've read Nexus 7 owners are having a lot of early bug issues with 5, including overall slowdown, facebook crashing and loads more, so I might hold off until a point release is available (shouldn't be long considering the number of 7 owners affected already).

Mine's been bought in 2012 so it must be the original. Chrome seems to be slightly slower at least with lots of tabs. Bootup time is perhaps a bit longer than before.

Mines the 2012 first 1 I flashed it myself not ota its seems ok other than slow boot up

I am just waiting on a replacement screen for my n7 3g 2012. I got Asus to replace the first one under warantee, but this 2nd breakage I think they will not cover it.

Im getting a bit sick of Google

It seems like they are forcing everyone to be as "vanilla" Android as possible. Well Google, vanilla Android sucks. There are no conveniences that are built in (eg basic picture editing from the gallery like rotations, DLNA, screen mirroring), it looks plain boring and why do they try force Google + down your throat at every turn?? oh, and why the f*** did they take out USB mass storage mode?!

I hated my Samsung Galaxy S4 to start with (preferred my Sony Xperia Arc S) but I have grown to really like it and what Samsung do with their skin. I have noticed that the main moaners about touchwiz are geeks on tech sites, well Samsung's 60% of the Android market share says that touchwiz isnt that bad folks! :D

Ive not become a Samsung fanboy, but I think Google need a swift kick in the nuts. And that new advert theyre doing about many different types of Android?! hahahaha, not the way they want it to be it isnt!

Rant done :D

Anyway, my Nexus 2013 has been behaving funny recently, it thinks Im touching the screen and Im not, or it rotates then doesnt rotate back, I have to reboot. Im thinking of getting the Hudl 2 or a Samsung Galaxy Tab S to replace it anyway. I love screen mirroring on my Samsung GS4, works fantastic with my smart TV so may go with the Tab S:)

I've been having an annoying (seemingly) common issue with my Nexus 7 where it won't seem to charge or power on at all when it goes completely flat. I can only get it back into life (eventually) by forcing it into the boot menu by holding down power and down buttons together straight after plugging in the charging cable. Very annoying.

This issue isn't however restricted to the Nexus 7. My wife's Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" tablet also has this issue when it runs its battery completely flat. It just won't turn on and that was a nightmare to bring back to life too. So it seems to be an Android flaw, allowing the batteries to go too flat to let them initialise the hardware.

My wife has just got hold of a free Samsung Galaxy Note 10 (the original one) from her new school (was the old heads before she left and no one wanted it). I've been using it a bit and quite like the larger screen and also the stylus is actually quite useful at times. It also seems faster to use and smoother. Strange because I think other than the screen size it's pretty much identical in spec to her smaller 7" Samsung. Even the screen resolution is the same. Just shows you can't always go by specs alone.

I am seriously tempted to upgrade to either the Samsung Galaxy Tab S or the Nexus 9 in the new year.

Clearing the cache partition in recovery mode made a huge performance improvement to my Nexus 7.

Yeah def have had bizarre issues with the Nexus 7 over the years but I gave it to my Dad and he has been having all sorts of weird issues lately too... It was a very stable tablet that has seemingly become more flakey as the new updates roll out
