what about the commodore 2630? Will it work?

Not sure of the context you are asking within.

In the context of GuruROM, there are no issues with an A2630 accelerator in the system.

In the context of the 16-bit FastRAM issue noted above, with a 68040/68060 CPU, it doesn't apply, as the A2630 is a 68030-based accelerator.

Hi,

I hope you can help me out. I have a GVP A530 SCSI controller (internal SCSI2CF v5, with three virtual HDDs. SCSI ID 0, 1 and 2) with your GURUrom inside and I've recently installed a SCSI Card reader (SCSI ID 5) in an external case attached to the external 25 pin connector of the GVP. I have a ZIP drive attached to this external case (SCSI ID 6) and this one is terminated.

The issue is that I can write to the ZIP drive, but I can only read from the SCSI Card reader (PCMCIA/CF or CF, others I haven't tried). Workbench reports that the CF cards (8GB, 4GB, 512MB and 256MB) are all write protected. A similar SCSI Card reader attached to my CSPPC SCSI in my A4000 works fine and I can read/write all the cards mentioned.

Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Any help is appreciated.

PRS - I replied in PM before I saw this post.

If we solve it, I'll post the resolution here. I have a suspicion it's one of the bugs that befall some more primitive SCSI devices - a problem that hangs or stuns some devices when the SCSI_Inquiry is done to detect Sync capability during the initial bus scan at boot time. I need some more info, and possibly some troubleshooting done, to confirm or rule out that possibility. Let's keep the discussion in PM for now. Thanks.
