Hi, I joined this site to find some 3dfx cards. I want to collect every 3dfx card ever made eventually, even the rampage prototypes if I can ever get my hands on some of those BGA chips. I have a voodoo 5 agp currently, a voodoo 2 sli setup and I'm looking to get a voodoo 3 3000 pci and a voodoo 5 5500 pci at the same time if possible.
I am learning to program, hardware and software, because I want to become some kind of computer technician, and I have a few hardware and (my own) operating system ideas. My programming knowledge will be extensive, not just limited to games, but I feel that games are some of the best tools to use to communicate many messages to the masses of people because they can reflect real life in a realistic way. I like 3dfx cards despite them being defunct, because they are rock solid, and I believe most games (even in today's over-powered and over-priced GPU arena) should just be really simple and plain because "Crysis" and other games like it are just overkill just to tell a simple story. That's not not to say those 2007-present day games don't have a purpose, but it's just that I believe most messages can be conveyed through simplistic and low-level coding of video games and I wish to use the ancient 3dfx hardware and the like to provide the lowest common denominator of compatibility.
Of course if you would like to PM me about this stuff you may...
