Help with classic WB

Hello! I am in American quite new to Amigas and workbench so please forgive any ignorance here.

I am trying to figure out how to get classicWB on my real Amiga 500. I tried to use the copy method that detailed on the classicWB website. I’m able to get it up and running per the instructions on the website in winUAE. However, I’m not sure the best way to transfer what’s on that .hdf onto my Amiga. I am actually running an ACA 500+ on my real Amiga. I tried creating a CF card with two partitions and copying the files from the HDF drive to the new CF card that didn’t work when I tried to boot from that CF car, workbench got hung up. Any suggestions?

Which version? Some need AGA for the copper background, you can disable this (try booting safe mode bu holding RMB during boot) CWB has a few boot menus

just gets hung up when booting. I will try the safe boot to see if anything is different. Sometimes I see similar behavior when I use the wrong ROM.

What version of ClassicWB did you try and install to your A500?

Was it the 68K version or one of the others on offer?

Thank you. In the first video at right about 16:05, it shows him a menu which I don’t get when I run the system.hdf on WINUAE. Mine boots straight to Workbench.

I’ll see about the error tomorrow.

68k. However, after you asked I checked again and noticed that it’s for an ECS machine. I replaced Super Denise with Denise in my real Amiga. Could that be the problem? I’ll post where it gets hung up tomorrow. Thank you for your help!!
