Help with Icons and Default

I have a large rash at the top of my head due to scratching it too hard!

The issue is that I am trying to make .txt files open with redit, So I use an icon copy tool to create a .info file for the txt file, I then go to icon information to set the default tool to open it with but that field is missing.

Could someone kindly let me know where I am going wrong? Ignore the fact I am in the Ram disk, I just did that to take the screenshot.

You need to change the icon to "Project" and use your desired Tool in the appropriate line.

How do I do that please? I am copying the icon from another txt file that does work

Ah OK I figured it out. You can open it in Icon Edit and change the type to project, that worked! Thanks for pointing in in the right direction astuermer, I have a lot of icons to change is there a way to do it on mass?

I found a great tool that can do this on mass, just in case others need it.

Sorry the late reply… in the NewIcon Package I remember a tool that does that for you just by selecting a new icon and then dropping the icon-to-change over it…
