Was anyone else disappointed that he did fry the guy who pushed him with a sudden blast of laser? Or is it just me :)

Bryce.

I saw this clip in some morning news a couple of weeks ago.

I like the reaction of the robot at the end, he seems to have enough of this mistreatment and just goes out the door.

I saw this the other day and the development is fascinating, But i equally thing what's the point. I know the argument that we can relate better to a human shaped robots, but it's not the best design for industry use. I suppose it's just a goal to achieve a biped robot that can navigate a world designed for humans.

I would also guess it would look less threatening, a spider shaped robot would be better for getting around but not readily accepted by the community. the above humanoid robot in clothes or a cloak wearing a simple mask( would be less threatening.

also as you said i see a human shaped robots using our equipment,,, getting in the car and going the supermarket , hand delivering packages using our stairs, lifts in office buildings,:D

A few months ago I saw Ex-Machina and:

1. I thought to myself "oh no! not the classic Frankenstein conundrum again!"

2. I considered to make a robot that can do a lot of things, the animated portion should be controlled by a much more powerful fixed computer. The anthropomorphic component should simply be the remotely operated portion of a much more complex and powerful system.
