I have a FastATA 4000 MK-II in my Amiga 4000D in combination with a z3660 and i'm happy how the setup works.

Now i want for my A2000 a new IDE card or move the FastATA 4000 MK-Vii to the A2000 and buy a new IDE card for the A4000.

Now i'm looking around on the internet to see what good options out there these days.

Sow far i see the Buddha plus one and the FastATA 4000 MK-Vii
Or the FAT olga but than i keep the FastATA 4000 MK-II in my A4000

or is there a other Z3 IDE card Projects for the A4000 here on the AmiBaY that i have not seen. Sata, msata or nvme cards for the a4000.
Dont know if some new projects are brewing here around..

Anyone have some enlightenment to share about such projects or what to buy or not to buy?

Thx in advance..!!

Got one of these for my A4K tower setups:

I believe there is a SATA version as well.

Moving a FastATA Z3 to a A2000 with Z2 speeds wouldn’t be worth it.

ZorLANSATA:

Yeah saw the ZOLAN card with m.2 and sata and CF. That is basically future proof. And a good upgrade for my 4000. If the card run in Z3 mode and the drives can maxout the bus.
On the other hand, your zorro lan IDE looks also very nice. that one i see is Z3 and fast ethernet. have ask some questions about the ZOLAN card. And i need to know if they both work with the Z3660 I'm still very happy with that card.. could not wish for a better card. And the build is very solid ;)

I understand that a Z3 card will be overkill for the A2000 z2.. And i don't know yet if the fast ata card will gonna work in a Z2 slot. need to test that. That is the only IDE card i now have. Maybe i skip the idea and just put a Pistorm 2K in the A2000. That will solve a few bottlenecks. Arrgggg Too many choices 😅

Can not find any info about the ZOLAN card

If your focus is primarily to make 4000 IDE faster and give the 2000 a hand-me-down, than read no further.

If your focus is primarily to just add IDE to the 2000...

I've wondered...how are those little sandwich boards that go under the 68000 and give you IDE or IDE+8MB on a 500/2000? Seems like this has best performance pottential considering the proximity to CPU.

Personally, I got one of the Ripple IDE boards on here from @RetroFletch, and I'm very pleased with it. However, I also do enjoy saving Zorro slots for other potential goodies if possible.

just found out that i can use a reA4091 in combination with a z3660. That makes that i can put the pistorm back in my 1200 and take out the Jaws_II-030_SCSI
Than i will put the IDE card in the 2000. A happy end if you ask me :)
