Closed looking for poseidon 3.4 for spider usb controller

I looked around but I could not find unregistered version of old version of posedion that supports spider

Only the 3.8 Poseidon will work with with Spyder cards, which is a rebadged NEC USB card with a slightly different firmware.

BTW, Elbollox made a catch on the Mediator firmware: don't try NEC cards on it, the firmware will stop the Amiga to boot! At least the Mediator program will not erase the HD RDB as they did when a Subway is detected!

Unregistered Poseidon will work for 15 seconds, nothing more.

because not everyone knows its next to usless on a amiga or you might have the right software but no hardware, unlikely

3.8 is uploaded to the Zone. I don't use the site, so I cannot confirm it is still there. If you PM Zetr0, he might be able to help further.

Apparently, earlier versions do work if you have a psd file or other. I have V3.4.lha if you want me to upload it?

15/30 seconds and that's it. Chris get very mad when Elbolox used a pirated key to demo the Dragon using Poseidon...

Hi,

Years ago I had saved up for a holiday, but I couldn't travel due to illness, so, I bought an A4K Mediator Elbox Tower and a Spider with some of my holiday money.

I ended up with my dream Amiga, an A4K (donated to me by the local school) in a huge tower just dying for upgrades etc.

The rest of my savings went on a Cyberstorm MKII/SCSI, Voodoo graphics card and a NIC and the system has been running for years now.


The Spider was in storage for quite a while, then "stuff" happened and I read various accounts of what ocurred between Chris Hodges and Elbox.


So, am I'm now stuck with an expensive bit of kit which I had hoped would solve the lack of USB in my tower ?


I dont want to ask Chris because he is still posting on the Amiga sites and I may well upset him which could drive him away from the classic Amiga.


I could buy a Bhudda card and a Subway which I could install on a Clockport, but that means more cost, and to be quite frank, I cant afford it


I'm thinking of putting the Spider up for sale.

I followed the whole Hodges/Elbox fiasco from day one... and from start to finish three things are painfully obvious.

1 - Elbox did the wrong thing.
2 - Chris had reason to be annoyed.
3 - Chris is a big girls blouse who chucks a hissy fit at the drop of a pink pimps hat.

Chris had every right to react... but he OVERreacted - big time (will not go into detail, but Im sure everyone knows what Im talking about).

not only you have to use poseidon 3.8 but the keyfile you use MUST have the spider option enabled... I had registered it back then with the most expensive universal option: every usb known to the amiga world , even spider. The key worked fine but the spider was a big let-down with a 060 mediator-ZIV setup...
(and before anyone asks I am selling/trading/giving my key)
