After 25 years of repairing vintage computers and programming. It seems impossible that someone like myself feels as a newbie to the Greatness of AMIGA!
Really, it took me about a year to really get back in the swing of things, since I have not touched my Amiga 500 since 1995. However, been on many other computer projects, including vintage Apples and Modern day PC.
After installing Classic WB ADVSP on my Amiga A4000/40 with an 030 processor card. Compact Flash drive, " The very best." Nec Mutisync Monitor two drives, four two others I do not use, and 2 meg of chip 16 meg of fast. Really I want to install AmigaOS3.9.
The disk for AmigaOS3.9 I have works well. Though only with the latest version of WinUAE ! But when I install it, I can't change any of the screen modes. It seems to be protected or locked. Boing Bag 1&2 will not install through my two paid for Amiga Forever Cd's. Some crazy error pops up constantly.Everything I have is original. My paid for Whdload key works wonderful. After nearly a year of compiling around ten 4 gig cf cards, scanning the net for every utility, programming software, productivity software, Educational software and Games.. It's time I enjoy this toy of mine.
Question?? Should I just leave Classic Wb Advsp?? Or should I be a real man and install AmigaOS3.9 with the boing bag 1&2 upgrades? What are the advantages and what in the hell am I doing wrong? I've read everyones instructions online. It seems to be one of the harder things to do....
