Yay! Welcome to the Arcade owner's club. :D I collected arcade machines before I started in the retro computing hobby. I enjoyed them, but they took up SO much space. I had 12 of them at one time.

Now I just have the MAME cabinet I built. It fulfills all my arcade needs.

I hope you and your family enjoy it!

Great stuff! I bought a cab recently, kids love it. Just coming to the end of a very long Hyperspin project so will post the results at some point this week... naturaly of the 30 systems I have set up on it the Amiga with the WHDload issues was the most complicated lol.

Enjoy :-)

Ninja Tutles on 4 players is Amazing and I bet your kids will say Video games of 80/90's the best

Lovely cabinet! Electrocoin cabinets are good and sturdy, from my experiences of them - should give you all plenty of fun for a long time.

Congratulations on a great buy.

What other games are catching on, there?

That little chap looks well and truly happy to be playing with it, I bet my grandson would really love something like that (and me) :)
The only problem is, is that kids nowadays are better than us older guys when it comes to playing games on Xbox 360, apple ipad and and a multitude of other devices. It was fun at first letting them win but now I don't stand a chance at most games :lol::lol:

track n field
ghost n goblins
gauntlet
street fighter ofcourse :D
defender (but buttons mapped awkwardly so difficult to play)
tapper
paperboy
bezerk
both teenage mutant ninja turtle games my 4 yr old loves it as its also the in thing again atm.

the 600 in 1 board is kinda rubbish, it serves well but on the more demanding games it slows down (I knew this before buying it), it also does some sort of stretching to fill the screen so space invaders look wrong a bit like an old pentium laptop when it badly expands the text to full screen "0" has one side fatter than the other etc. its basaclly an arm cpu with SD card running a version of mame badly optimised but it only costs about £80 new , after xmas i'm either going to mame the cabinet (and go though all the issues of soft15khz) or just go all out and buy a ready built 3000 in 1 P4 based pcb.

my only disappointment (I also new this before buying but basically just wanted the cabinet the 600 in 1 was a bonus) is that I forgot vertical games will run sideway on a horizontal tube so if I do get the 3000 in 1 i'm hoping it has a nice video card to correctly display my favorite games, pacman , donkey kong , astro blaster etc correctly on a horizontal monitor :)

looking at this what do you think? 3000 in 1 P4 PCB. videos on youtube make it look great and the games list is great. all my favorites, APB, Astro Blaster ,Pacman , astro fighter , marble madness , 1942, time pilot, donkey kong, galaxian, etc etc :D

I love love love Root Beer Tapper. Fantastic game. (I was also delighted to see that Tapper himself got a good appearance in Disney's Wreck-It Ralph, as well. )

I actually owned an Electrocoin cabinet myself once, and it had a rig for rotating the monitor once the machine was powered off. Do you have (or can you find online) the manual for your cab? If it has that feature, there'll be a few pages on moving the monitor around, and the necessary precautions to do so. If memory serves, it's a two-man job, though.

looking at this what do you think?
I'm not entirely sure that it's kosher to post it, is it? ;)

removed link, I'm guessing the 600 in 1 I have is also questionable on a legal stand point and probably why they are only made in China ??

the monitor wont rotate and I prefer the horizontal layout as it's best for the street fighter / ninja games my lad loves :D. as long as the new PCB scales correctly I'll be happy.
