A couple of things would probably see me definitely buy one. A release of Minecraft so that my daughter can play on it rather than on my laptop, and the ability to play the Android games purchased as part of a Humble Bundle.

They have done very well to get this far, and most of the initial problems have been addressed. It initially sold out on both amazon uk and us, so demand is quite high, but I think its gonna soon take off big time. Word of mouth is spreading quickly. They really need to get the interface beefed up as it seems peoples first impressions are hampered by its basic look.

lll be buying one after my hols. If it was available in store here id have one by now. Shame it only launched in uk. Cant wait to play dubwars.

Phil, I think all the humble bundles can already be side loaded, minecraft should be coming at some point.

I was surprised to see a "Coming Soon" card advertising the Ouya on a shelf at a branch of GAME, recently!

Anyway, YouTube comedian Dr. Ashen did a review of the system last week, if anyone finds it to be of interest;

Apparently he found it in a second-hand shop shortly after the pre-release versions started shipping.

It struck me as not being especially different to some of the flash-drive-sized Android TV boxes from the various Hong Kong-based tatmongers, and in some ways more fiddly and locked-down than those, if I'm totally honest (the fact that the "believers", as it seems they're called in the included literature, have gotten slightly less-optimal hardware than those buying at retail will, is also not impressive to me - surely they should have gotten the fixed stuff, too?). The only thing that's stood out to me so far is that it has a custom-made controller.

Will be curious to hear more as time goes on.

So I've had some time to play with it. It keeps freezing, dropping the network connection, dropping downloads. The controller lag sucks, especially on some platformers. It doesn't fit my tv resolution properly and I can't figure out how to fix the overscan. Sometimes it won't pair a controller until I reboot it. I can't recommend it in its current state.

I might well wait for Ouya II  as they will learn from ouya and make it better

@esc, well thats put a dampener on my excitement. Most of those problems are supposed to be fixed on retail units, and some have already confirmed. I wonder if some of the retail units are infact older pre retail versions slyly pushed out to get rid? Either way im confused now, and glad I didnt buy one just yet. I'll be keeping my eye on the situation over the next month.

How are you other guys with Ouyas finding them? Anyone have the same probs as esc?

Sent from my Sony Xpera Z

I'm not having the problems esc is, mine has been flawless - my only beef is with the n64 and MD emulators, they are very crude compared to super GNES.

Sounds like the OUYA is going to be the retro gamers console of choice :)

Can you also get MAME on it yet? What about Dreamcast and PS1, does that work ok?

I haven't tried any other console emu's yet, with a 5 week old baby + 2 year old I'm rather time poor these days!

I'm going on vacation for a few days, but when I get back I'll try to make a few vids. However, it's tough to show controller lag and things like that on a video...I'll do my best :)

Btw folks, I just turned my ouya on to find a new system update, not sure what the change log contains yet (not sure where to find it either).

Ps, looks like a huge update as its taking a long time to DL!
