Guys, I have created a sales thread for this now. All you who have declared interest have already been included in the original post HERE so don't need to declare again. All we need is interest in one more cable, and I will get onto Todd with the order.

Sorry for the delay. The one I used here was a Hammond hobby box (60x35x17mm) I picked it up in Maplin HERE
Hope that helps.

Hey Phil, would it be possible just to buy an AMP if I put my name down for the second batch as well if there's room?

I picked up a Ten No Koe Databank on the other bay yesterday and was going to get TC to use an amp in there. Obviously I still want your scart as well as I don't think the PC Engine looks as pleasing with the databank hanging off the back but it would be useful if a game needs it and I can still have RGB out.

No problem buddy, I'll add your name to the second batch in the sale thread.

No problem, just go to the order thread HERE, and put your name down. :)

It never ceases to amaze me the really clever people on this forum, god knows how you do it, I think it must be some kind of Witchcraft mixed in with a dab of Voodoo! but it looks a really great bit of kit and I have just put my name down for one on the other sale thread and paid the £15 deposit. Thanks for making these r0jaws.

I can't claim complete credit for this TBH. Todd is the one building the amps, and an RGB SCART cable/ connection using the expansion port has been done before. I was just mulling it one day whilst modding a PC Engine for someone else, and noticed that all the feeds went out to the expansion port. It was just a case of putting 2 and 2 together after that really.
Like I say, it has been done before, but I have to admit, not in quite as neat a way as it has done with this cable.
I will one day get around to building a full rear connection that powers the system too, although it would need it's own fuse and switch etc, but for now it's on my To Do pile.

Nope! Sorry not convinced, I'm still going with the Witchcraft theory ;)

Nice work, Phil! :) Had to take a closer look at this thread as I have a PC Engine Core Grafx coming to me from Japan.

What do you think of the RGB Amp made by mmmonkey here? That would apparently fit inside the Scart connector.

You should get good results from that mod, it's the simplest one out there. Les had his PCEngine running with it HERE, the results look good, however with more sophisticated amp circuits you will get less artifacts, like jailbars.
But, for the price of three transistors it's certainly worth the effort.

Ok, thanks for the info!

For 40 cents apiece for the transistors the cheaper mod is definitely worth trying. Apparently Phipscube had gotten rid of the jailbars using the sync instead of composite for syncing.

I took a look at the development thread of the amp circuit that thgill is using over at NFGGames forum. It occurred to me that by simply widening the PCB somewhat to the width of the PC Engine expansion port and adding female pin headers, the amp board could be directly connected to the expansion port. The video cable could be then connected by a connector or pin headers to the amp board, or be directly soldered into it.
