An update for members of Batch 3. i have received the last deposit, so I have placed the order with Todd and sent payment for the Amps.
Cheers guys. :)

A PSU with a higher amperage would probably help. if the RGB amp draws power and the Everdrive does too then you'll probably be better with a 2A PSU, something like this: http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-20...fixed-voltage-9v-worldwide-power-supply-l46bl

2.25A would probably be more than enough for that sort of setup. I'm picking one up myself as it'll come in handy when I get a CDROM2 unit and install the RGB amp internally.

Just an update. My 2A PSU arrived today so thought I'd give it a go but I still get the same issue with the LT with the garbled screen. I also tried to boost it a bit more by plugging in 9V 1A into the CD-ROM power socket on the other side - picture below.

From a non-technical point of view, I assume it's a limitation of the circuit on the LT? The picture on the PVM looked amazing - sorry the picture doesn't reflect this

I've been working on an audio amp to go inside and have found that power is indeed an issue. I'm going to dig out a beefier PSU and give it a go myself.

Are you working with any existing designs for the audio amp? Any luck with a better PSU?

Not quite yet, I'm currently away visiting family but am looking to start fresh when I get back. Hopefully I'll get it sorted in time to include it in the batch 3 cables, but we'll see.

Hi,

Could you please put me down on the list for the next batch?

Many Thanks.

I can put you down for this batch if you'd like. I have 16 cables spoken for, but I will be building 20 in total. I found that as the build went on last time, more people wanted one, so I have a couple of extras this time.

That sounds even better :) Can you PM me with your details and I can get a deposit over to you.

Deposit received from sleeky, Thank you. First post updated. :)

I thought I'd best update you guys on here who are buying one of these from me, I have been in contact with Todd, he has received the boards from China and has begun assembling them. He hopes to have them done next week, and will then ship them to me, from the US, so that I can then assemble the cables.
It looks like, with Christmas, we maybe lucky to see these before the big day. I'll do my best to get them out if they arrive in time, but realistically it maybe best to wait until the beginning of the New Year to avoid Postal congestion.
We'll see how it pans out.

Just a quick update for everyone in Batch 3, I am still waiting on the Amps from Todd, hopefully they will be with us in the New Year. As soon as they arrive, I will fit them in the cables, test them, and send you all a PM.
Also, the last cable for Batch 3 has been claimed by PMA from Jamma+. :)

I'm afraid that if you wanted one, you're now out of luck. I doubt I'll be doing a batch 4.

WOW

WOW

This is such an awesome idea! Such a shame it is only for PC Engine systems and not DUOs or PCE/CD-ROM2 combos. The lack of the ext port on the back of those systems to blame, I assume.

Aargh! I just bought a pc engine from Japan which arrived yesterday. Isn't there any possibillity that you add one more cable to the current batch? Payment won't be a problem ofcoz

I was so glad that I found this option and would be really disappointed if I miss out.

<edit> fortunatelly I have found an alternative.

Greetings,
Tim

Sorry for the delays everyone. Combination of the holidays, and snafu's on my part held up these getting built and shipped.

However they have been sent and Phil should receive them probably in the next 7 days or so.

I am sorry guys, but I won't be building any more of these for the foreseeable future. They are fairly straightforward, if time-consuming, to fabricate if you buy one of Todd's amps, can solder, and have a bit of heat-shrink. I am happy to provide tips for anyone thinking of having a go themselves.

Ok guys, big news. The Amps have finally arrived! Spending 2 weeks in transit, I went to pick them up from the Distribution centre this morning. So, good news there. :)
Now for some bad news. Unfortunately, I am off skiing in France for a week starting tomorrow.
Obviously this means that whilst I have the amps and cables, I won't be able to start building them until I get back. However, rest assured, apart from my full time job, and family commitments, completing these will be my highest priority on my return.
Once again, thanks to Todd for his efforts, and thanks to all of you for your patience. It's been a long wait, but the end is in sight now, and I'm sure you will be pleased with the results.

Great news ! Where do you go in France ? ;-)

Sorry for my tardiness in replying, I have just returned from Les Gets, it was great fun, although I am now exhausted. I will get started on the cables tomorrow if everyone's Ok with that?

All the cables on this last batch are sold already or could I still buy one? (this time I'll do it I swear! :D )
