I need to take pics but I'm pretty excited. Got a CDTV from a pawn shop today for an awesome deal, came with 4 "games" as well, Defender of the Crown, Lemmings, Classic Board Games, and Groliers Encyclopedia.

Not sure yet if I'm going to hang onto it or sell it though. It works perfectly, was hoping they had some more games, would love to play Turrican on it, but alas can't have everything.

Loktar, congratulations on your finding. :)

You need to edit out the price from your post to comply with the forum rules, though.

saved from falling into the trash...

saved from falling into the trash...

A friend of mine was moving to another apartment and he was going to trash these treasures from 80's...

  • Portable IBM PS/2 from 1989: 120 Mb hard disk, 1,44 floppy, very large orange LCD-screen etc...
  • Atari ST 520 STfm, mouse, scart cable and a box of floppies
  • Couple of Amiga 500's
  • Broken C128
  • Lot's of floppies and manuals, 1084 monitor and 1541 floppy drive
Most interesting Amiga is here pictured. Correct if I am wrong, but it seems to be quite early version - I can't even find revision number from motherboard and it's dated either 2/87 or 7/87? Serial number in the case is just under 60k and it has embossed C= logo. This baby needs a little care: it's dirty, needs some retr0bright, it _has_ to be downgraded back to kickstart 1.2, azerty-keyboard is wasted (keys missing) and missing floppy drive. Seems like I have my next project here... :p

That looks like a very early A500 indeed. The serial number also verifies that. Is it a regular A500 keyboard or the ones without a membrane?

The keyboard does not have a membrane, it has all-the-way soldered pcb. It's probably working, but theres couple of keycaps missing and one cap attachment white thingy missing also... :-/ Oh, and it does have that famous C= key in the left side instead of Amiga -key.

Atari is totally off from my commodore collection scope, but I think I'll keep that PS/2 for a while. Windows 3.1 runs very nicely on it, so it must have cost a fortune back in -89...

You and TroelsDK could probably make one working KB together? :)

there is an 'o' after the name it denotes original:

Oh, and it does have that famous C= key in the left side instead of Amiga -key.

That means it's an early revision 3 A500, so that also means you have to get a keyboard from a dead revision 3 A500.

Another keyboard won't work it, vice versa is also true, I once saw a revision 3 keyboard on a 8A A500 Plus with kick 3.1, it wouldn't start at all.

Was given to me for free, came home, took the keyboard out, and voila, a nice A500 Plus revision 8A with kickstart 3.1 and almost no battery damage :-D

I'm pretty sure that we tested TroelsDK's keyboard and it was working fine on a common rev 5/6 A500, just lacking a few keys.

Maybe the problem was kick 3.1? Right now the case is having a sunbath and TroelsDK's missing keys are in a letter waiting for me to get to the post office ;-) There's one complete old style keyboard available in evilbay, but it's qwertz-version...

What by the way happened to rev 1 and 2? Are those prototypes? Why this is rev 3 but there's no "rev3" text at the MB?

I have the NES now, nothing grabbing my attention, except maybe for crackout (arkanoid type game) which i did play for a little while.

I had the SNES, enjoyed a few games like Donkey Kong Country, Street Fighter, Pilot Wings but not much else got me very interested.

N64, only played Goldeneye and didn't enjoy it, i also find the controller to be quite awkward.

GBA SP, have a few games but nothing majorly enjoyable other than Bust-A-Move.

NDS/3DS - Only thing i did quite enjoy were the professor leyton games.

Nintendo staff and co will be losing sleep tonight.

Maybe the keyboard was just broken? I've seen some regular A500 keyboards which would simply block the Amiga from booting.
