Fender take a perfectly good Stratocaster and other guitars then hack away at them til they're all battered and "Reliced". You may have started a new trend there Dougal.

Thanks Ed! I hadn't seen that review but I checked every label and marking on the box and found nothing.
They did finally email the manual to me. I don't agree with the reviewer that the manual is unhelpful but it is a bit low on information. I wrote back my feelings about the download process for the manual and the person wrote back saying they totally agreed with me and have been trying to get management to make it easier.

Nice
I have an Askania brand stereo microscope in my garage. Got it cheap from eBay because the seller mislabeled it and did not know what it was.
You really need a microscope when doing something like this
Yes, it is a vero board in the background
I took the photo through the microscope.
Nice! I've fancied a Panasonic MSX Turbo R every now and then. I like the quirky design of the Panasonic as it gives an impression that it has more features than it in reality has.
We can start another thread if you like but picking this scope was a bit of a random gamble based on information from the manufacturer's site, Reviews on Amazon, and searching through Google. I was looking at a scope from the same company that cost $90 less than the one I purchased but I figured I could grow into the one I received more than I could with the lower level one.BTW, nice scope. I've had my eye out for one as well. Please let us know what you think of it (even start a new thread if you would).
Wowzers! Like I mentioned to Heather, I'm looking for a scope as well, but have no idea what to get. Any recommendations?
We have about five here at work, I plan on picking the brains of the BASF boys to see what they think. But we use ours for looking at paint, not solder joints.
