had a weird issue for a few days...seems to have gone though

I have the exact same problem since a couple of days ... suddenly hangs while playing and makes this weird sound. For no good reason.

All I can think off is reverting back to AmigaAmp 3.31 since it started occurinf after upgrading to the latest CafeineOS with 3.33
i'm currently assembling some prelude/mpegit and get the same issue.
the problem come from the mach211 when it warm. very likely timing issue, i tried 3 mach211, they all behave differently despite being the same speed.
some "fail" very quickly, while some can work for hours with no troubles. can you tell me the speed of your mach211 and if it's a SP variant ?
and as i said this happen when it warm, it's dependent of the ambient temperature, of course.

here is some action :

edit : and now as i write, since i did the "magic breath" it still playing for more than 1 hour without issues.
yesterday, temperature was a bit higher in the room, and it was failing every 5 or 6 min after cooling.
very critical and sensitive...

Having problems with mine too.
I have the Prelude ZII Half Zorro with the Mpeg-It module installed in a A2000 Rev 6.2 with a GVP Impact II series HC8+ SCSI card, running Emu68 on a PiStorm.
The Prelude and SCSI card don't work together, with both installed the Amiga won't boot. Emu68 completes Buptest successfully then just stops and won't go any further. Take out one of the cards and all is well, so if anyone has a A2000 with the GVP HC8+ SCSI card and a PiStorm avoid the Prelude because they don't play nice together.

We'll since my last post the prelude has been put into my new build....An A1200T with winner zorro II busboard....all housed in a Corsair pc case.....not had any issues for a long time....the case is Temp controlled by l2c sensors via a Solas controller....all powered by the PiStorm32

Hi.
My Prelude / MPEGit setup / AHI 4.x si working fine appart from one thing.
Sound from OpenDune (automatically routed to AHI unit 0) is extremely faint, i thought it didn't work but i can hear voices if i push my Roland mixer to the max.
If i change AHI unit0 to an USB sounblaster device also connected to my setup, voices are ok.
I have the Mixer active in wbstartup with high level for every entry .
Any idea how to fix the level?

Is there any tooltypes to set...?

Actually i have fixed the problem which seems to be AHI related.
I use latest version 4.x. I used to push the channels slider to the max, from 1 to 32 because i thought it would be better. However, i have understood now that more channels means more softwares being able to use simultaneoulsy this AHI unit, which of course is not necessary, but then the more channels the lower the volume, so it seems.
I have encountered the same problem while playing MP3 to AHI Paula on my Vampire 1200 v2, and i ended using again my MAS Player to get loud 16 bits output even if it was not necessary to have a decoding hardware with that CPU. Again, it was fixed by returning to only 1 AHI channel.

ahh i did that....turned everything up to the max superman mode lol

It a shame the Prelude has no native passthrough for floppy based games (if you use Aux2 for amiga audio)

I see there's a new version of the Prelude package on Aminet...V4.1

Been using my prelude in the A1200T build.....One thing I noticed is Most Apps have there own volume control...the Prelude Mixer has a Maser Volume as well as MpegIT output.....At the moment I have the Amiga Native audio going into the Prelude....And MpegIT...so all plays though the output.....to the amp that also has its own volume control.

soooo my thought is.....if you max out all the volume controls the Amiga native output is distorted if outputted though the prelude...but not distorted if the Amiga Native is straight to the amp.......MpegIT you can max out everything and all is great.

Demo`s (.exe type) that play "full volume" sound distorted though the Prelude but not Direct Amiga ouput/amp These Demos must ignore the Prelude Volume control...?
WHDload games and Demos Can be distorted Depending on Music type etc.

Yes you can Save settings inc volume with most apps......EaglePlayer....AmigaAMP etc....but you have to match them setting to what you are playing......like Volume 1/4 on EaglePlayer....3/4 on Prelude Mixer....1/2 way on the amp.

Theres no "one for all" setting regarding Volumes etc......What do you think...?

I can try it...what i know is its a modded Tocatta.library that re-routes stuff to the prelude.library
I’ve been searching for this ‘dummy’ or ‘fake’ toccata.library file as well. All my searched seem to suggest it might exist, but I still have not found anything that works (to re-route to the prelude.library).

Have you or anyone had any success in finding it or something similar?

Cheers,
Greg

I'm also looking for this library.

I need it as OctaMED Soundstudio doesn't recognise the Prelude natively.

Any joy?

Well, I've recently had some luck. The Wayback Machine allowed me to find a download link for the library file. I had some limited success with it in using the Toccata tools to make it active but it doesn't fully work for what I hoped to use it for (toccata emulation in MovieShop).

I've attached it here and hopefully will work for you.
