Problem installing Cgx v4

Hi all

I've been trying to install CyberGraphX 4 on my system for the very first time today (BPPC/BVision CWB OS3.9).
Since I currently have no way to connect a CDROM, I made an ISO of the CGX4 CD & mounted it on the A1200 using DiskImage.

So far so good, image is mounted & accessible on drive ICD0:.

When I try to start the installation, I immediately get:
"Unable to compile script.
ERROR: Symbol name not valid here on line 671".

The window has a single button - "Proceed", which does nothing but close the window, installation doesnt start.

I thought it might be a problem with the CD image, so I copied all files directly to a folder & tried running from there, same result.

What am I missing here?

Assign the name "CyberGraphX_4", the name of the CD, to the folder you copied the files to or to the mounted image on ICD0:

assign CyberGraphX_4: ICD0:
assign CyberGraphX_4: dh*:<folder>

You're also going to need an update to CGX4 as the version on the CD doesn't support the BVisionPPC.

CyberGraphX_4 is already assigned to the CD image

Is it a genuine CGX 4 CD?

I know I had a similar (exactly the same IIRC) problem when trying to install it not using a CD.
I think there is some kind of "copy-protection" to prevent installing without the CD.


Now when I think of it you will get into trouble anyway as there's no BVisionPPC driver on the CD.. so you can't install it anyway. And in the "CGX Update V4 RC" there's only a patch-file for the BVPPC that needs a BVisionPPC monitor file.

To install on an BVPPC you need CGX v4.1. And that was supplied on a floppy with the CD.

Maybe someone with a BVPPC can help you more....

Hi

I've read several forum threads about the issue, the procedure seems to be:

1) Install CGX4 from CD
2) Install CGX41 update
3) Install CGX42_rc5 update

The ISO was made from a CD-r copy of the original, which was successfully used in the past.
I know about the copy-protection, but as I understood its only relevant to the updates, which require the original CD.

About the error, any idea what script its trying to compile?
Maybe I can take a look at it & figure something out...
