Preliminary v4.0 Firmware is available.

4532/3732 Code unverified, since I don't have the RAMs to check and tune the code. All the rest ist tested and working.

Source Github as usual.

Excerpt from the changelog:

v 4.0 (2026-01-11)
  • BREAKING: 4164 RAMs are now tested with 4ms Retention time. There are few 2ms 4164 around and most Computers will need the 4ms Part.
  • Added QR Code to help you find the GitHub Docs Page in case DIP Switches are invalid
  • Added Selftest/Healthcheck Mode. When all DIP Switches are OFF it starts automatically. Check Documentation on how to use
  • Added CBR (Cas-before-Ras) Timer Test. At the End, for RAMS that have a Refresh Timer, it is now tested
  • Preliminary Support for 4532/3732 RAMs. This is UNTESTED and most probably still buggy. All other RAM checks should be fine

Peek-Preview for the next Firmware Version.

Peek-Preview for the next Firmware Version.

  • 🆗 Most probably I'll include 4532-L and 4532-H support ;-) -> Implemented but untested / maybe buggy since I don't have such RAMs (yet).
  • 🆗 Also there will be more "Online" Help when someone dials an invalid DIP Switch combination, by presenting a QR Code that leads to the current documentation (See Image). -> Implemented
  • 🆗 Maybe (if I can free some more Flash Memory) I'll include a Self-Healthcheck of the Tester. So if you are not sure that the Hardware is ok, you can run a Test. However I'm hitting the limits of the Controller (Flash Storage) so this is a 50:50. --> Implemented.
  • 🆗 If the Self-Test does not fit, I may opt for a Test that (AFAIK) few in this (price) class have done, It will include the Test of the Refresh Counter for Rams that support it. Actually I have only found one product who claims to check this. --> To do, but since I have freed additional 2k of Flash it should does fit!
Hi Tops, you have mixed up the names of different types of dram that are used primarily in the ZX Spectrum - there are 4 different ones used for the upper ram and they are selected by one of 4 different jumpers on the ZX Spectrum motherboard - they are the OKI 3732L and the OKI 3732H as well as TMS4532-20NL3 and the TMS4532-20NL4's

Might purchase one to replace my cheap tester.
John.

For simplicity’s sake, I thought I'd stick to 4532 either in working Lower Order or Higher Part. I'm aware that this is not the official type of this DRAM. If it causes confusion, I'd be happy to change the name to some common naming convention, as long as it is not longer than 15 characters.
