*cough* Acetronic 2000/Radofin/Interton VC-400 *cough*. Will this appear in the voting list or am I just too retro for you all? :)

This machine had my favorite controller of all time. The emulator for it is just about the last regularly updated Amiga application around, but it is also pointless as you have to have the original controllers to appreciate the machine. You move the yoke and it is like you are connected directly to the screen. I love the directness and low brain power required for most of the games. And the games are completely different to what you find on other machine. Some odd little ideas which we never explored further in other machines.

I don't own one, but Playstation 1 was awesome, such a jump forward in console gaming.

I'm missing it's enemy btw, Xbox.

I believe XBox was PS2s rival :) The only rivals PS1 had were Saturn and N64... MS didn't enter the market with their console until next gen.

Oh and... Since Sega Mega CD is there... should 32X not have a place? not that I expect too many people will vote on it.

mj, i think you forgot the commodore 64 game system! LOL it was available in the 90's

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commodore_64_Games_System

i know it was coolish cuz i had one! LOL

Bloody hell! :wooha: That one slipped through the net! I wonder how many of those have been sold on Amibay?

I'd bet less than Commodore PETs if any.

had a 3DO... I quickly traded it for a minimig! (that I gifted immediately but that's another story...) crappy and low framerate games are all I saw

I agree, at first i thought it was ok but was quickly unimpressed by the sluggish framerates and those HUGE borders! I had the Goldstar model.

plus the Goldstar model is the cheapest nastiest and most pooey model of the lot:)

I remember we had one of these systems when I was like, 4 or 5 years old. It's without question the system that introduced me to video games, along with the Donkey Kong cocktail cabinet we had in the pub we owned on the ground floor.

You might say that the first pixels I ever saw were from the clown and horseracing games on the Radofin system:)

Anyway, back on topic: This list is impossible! Too many systems in the world to fairly differentiate them. Best I can do is state that the consoles most "hardcoded" into my memory and consciousness are the NES, SMS and original Gameboy! Gotta love the Gameboy.

....

You see my good friend I was going to add this - BUT, its an add-on not a console... while the SegaCD will work on its own (as a CD Plater), the 32x cannot

still its a good point, the SegaCD would suggest atleast a MegaDrive on top of it.... with that... then 32x should also have an entry...

damn... it.... now you made me talk my self into adding it....

[editing poll] for the nth thousandth time...

I got my eyes on you Mr Nurney..... >_>

---------- Post added at 15:13 ---------- Previous post was at 15:07 ----------

okay... I have updated (again) this poll to reflect some of what are essentially add-on's for the console(s) namely Sega.... but arguably with the SuperGameBoy addon for the SNES one could then play Gameboy and GameBoy Colour games..

and crap if I didn't include the Nintendo GameCube.... sigh..... [editing poll .... again]

What?!?!?
No Intellivision? The Intellivision was my first console. If they would have actually made and produced the infamous "Blue or Black Wale" Keyboard component (the original gold one where the Intellivison slid right into it, it would have been awesome. Some units did get made (under 500, but they went to developers.

thanks keith lol , im keeping you busy :-)

whats this ....no Apple pippin ?

Ah!!
You were playing FPSes....
Yeah, it didn't quite have it for First Person games...
But it really does have more than enough gems to be a fun system, as long as you get past the other stuff.. :-)

when it was released the Vectrex was also quite awesome....
And it still is... ;-)
If they re-released it now exactly as it is spec wise as a new system, I'd buy another one..
You can never have too many Vectri..er.. Vectrexes.. Vectrex.. Them.. ;-)

desiv

Darn you people!!! Got me thinking about my Vectrex again, so I popped out and checked and there was someone selling the last copy of his game, 3D Sector-X, so I had to buy it..
You people are enablers!!!!!! Aarrgghh!! :-)

even though i had both the snes and megadrive the snes kicked its ass. With games like Starfox, Stunt Racer, all 3 Donkey Kong games a great port of doom and loads of others and oh dont forget the awesome Rock 'n Roll Racing with its awesome music.

The Megadrive has awesome games too but i rather the snes a lot more.

Rock and Roll Racing was also on the Megadrive...

I agree I loved the SNES too and owned one for almost as long as my Megadrive and it was slightly superior. Kind of how the Xbox was to the PS2. Kong games starfox and Stunt Racer were all awesome... but you obviously never played Probotector (Contra 3), Dynamite headdy, Ristar, Gunstar Heroes or VR Racing on the Megadrive :D

... Road Rash 3 anyone? :D:D:D

Have you heard the megadrives version it makes my ears bleed its that bad and not as smooth either.

Lol, its not that much worse

:oI see the Megadrive and SNES are neck and neck!!!
It seems the rivalry is still alive and healthy after all this time :D

rivaly.... nay my friend..... just good honest appreciation of systems, both have a fantastically good library of games, and I would also say that there are a lot of definities for these systems as well.

It is a bit unfair having consoles of all ages in the same box. Anyway, my kisses go to the Atari VCS. Simple graphics (can't get any simpler) and lot's of fun. I still find it relaxing playing space invaders with it in a 14" old CRT TV.

Ah, Z speaks the language of diplomacy well... :)

It is the MegaDrive/Genesis for me. A very versatile machine (can add the 32x and CD add on) with a massive library of titles.

From Sonic 2 to Premier Manager 97, it has a bit of everything.

Got a MegaDrive 2 back in 1993 with Sonic 2 and was a top machine that I used for many years and still have to this day. So gets my vote.

However all retro consoles are amazing for different reasons - they are all part of the great gaming history!
