Well today I just got a response from a guy I sold a commodore 64 with the box and a 1541 floppy drive to. He said that the item was not as described, that it has a ding on the keyboard, and there was writting on the back. And that the 1541 floppy drive did not work.

But I clearly stated that in my auction that the 1541 drive did not work, and that there were 2 blemishes on the computer. And I even took PICTURES of them!!!!!!!!

Well he wasn't happy with that, so he left me a negative

I just hate it SSSSSOOOOOOOO much when people don't read an auction!

READ THE :censored: AUCTIONS!! :readit:

Open a case on Ebay and say that the feedback is invalid due to the clear description in the auction, it will be scraped from your feedback probably.

Everyone always opens threads complaining about Ebay here. I think the general consensus here is that they suck, which is why we all migrated to this site. (besides our love for all things Commodore)

Some find the Amibay rules to be too restrictive and hard to follow. (people on other sites have said this). I find that the rules here are EASY to follow and put in place for a very good reason. It allows us as fans of retro gear to buy/sell/trade items at a much more reasonable price vs. the overinflated "VINTAGE/RARE" posters on Ebay and Craigslist. The people that get mad at these rules are usually (not always) people who are trying to price gouge or strike it rich off of their gear instead of doing what the majority of us do here (including myself), and that's sell off gear you don't need to get some that you do. And often I prefer to sell to someone who actually needs it, or will put it to good use. Obviously people will do what they want with the items that I sell them, but it breaks my heart when I sell something for cheap and then see it up for sale on Ebay or CL the next day for triple the price. In a nutshell these among other reason is why Amibay exist. Plus it's free...

I didn't mean to go off on a rant here...:D
And sorry to go off topic....

If I'm selling something that's known and described as defective, I take the additional step of sending them a message along the lines of "Just want to check that you're aware of the listed defects of the item <list of defects>? Please let me know that you're still happy to proceed"

It shouldn't be necessary, but I always give my buyers a chance to pull out if they're not happy with that. You can then make a "next chance offer" for free, or there are even ways to get your fees reimbursed if you re-list due to a no sale, so it's not a big deal if they decline.

Of course, any retro hardware is offered exclusively here nowadays, I don't bother with the evilbay at all. Sadly, Amibay isn't quite geared up for me to sell my other junk! ;)

You might not, but most hot Amiga gear like Blizzards and other A1200 accelerator cards are sold there, certainly the rare stuff like 4000T's and Cyberstorms.

Amibay requiers a fixed price and some say, yeah, bye bye, I want to get the most for my accelerator card or rare Amiga and they list it on Ebay.

On the other hand, if you set a reasonable fixed price here, it may be sold in seconds, rather than days or not at all :D
In other words, do you want to get the motherload for it and wait for days or months for it to sell, or just a bit of profit and sold the same day ?

I've seen a lot of things on Ebay that are listed for months now, maybe even years, these people either don't get it, or they have all the time in the world.

I'm glad most of my stuff came to our Dutch forum Amigascene.nl, actually most of my stuff came from our respected sellers Amiga-Digital, Tahoe and Mad_cat_jr.

I've taken off 3 accelerator cards from Evilbay and a few items here on Amibay.
But my Blizzard 2060, Cyberstorm PPC, Blizzard 1230 IV and most other accelerators all came locally.

Having most items now, I'm on the hunt for bargains, I wouldn't even mess with Evilbay now, unless someone would offer me a 4000T :D

Oh, I still buy from eBay from time to time, but I don't sell any of my retro goodies on there. Many Amibayers keep tabs on the evil bay to see what's going down over there.

Oh, and to be fair, there have been a fair few Cyberstorms listed on here recently. :-)

It will be very hard work to get that feedback off. Don't e-mail them its a waste of time, just keep calling them over and over until it's resolved.

At least they've not done a Paypal reversal...

Just put a well worded, factual reply on the feedback and forget about it :-)
