As some of you might have read I bought some PC upgrades last week
Finally got the time today to strip out my old parts and install the new, plus it was a good excuse to clean out the case!
So first job was to remove the old Motherboard/PSU and put my GTX260 to one side for later
Here's my old board, too good to throw away so will clean up and put to use in another case, It's an AMDX2 4400+ Abit AN8 Fatal1ty Mobo 2GB DDR400 OCZ Gold. Cost me a fortune back in the day, but I guess it was good value since it has lasted me so long!
Next up, strip and clean out the case removing fans/etc to get all the dirt out, shocking how much dust builds up inside a modern PC!
Case is by Coolermaster and is pretty sturdy, had it a couple of years now but it's a decent case
Next installed my new Motherboard, didn't spend as much on the Motherboard this time.
CPU & Ram already installed (AMD FX4170 4.2ghz Quad Core & 8GB Ram)
Although the CPU came with a stock cooler I really don't like to use them so opted this time for a liquid cooling system, very impressed with this little setup, silent and looks very smart plus plenty of room for circulation in the case.
And PSU/GPU fitted
Last thing going in, somewhere to install Windows 7 - nice SATA3 SSD
Oh and of course a nice new SATA3 1TB HDD
Was shocked how fast Windows 7 installed and boots up really fast, posting now from the new PC of course!
