email replies are a luxury, if i was to respond to all emails religiously i would not be able to do any actual work, i am behind in all orders, not just vampires, it is nice to be popular but also very demanding. (4 forums, 2 email accounts and day to day necessities like work just seem to eat up too much time, sorry, as the song says, I'm only human

I understand people who are waiting for an answer. But kipper is clear. Member who has declared his interest is automatically on the list, and he doesn't must waiting for an answer, except the one that he'll receive when his board will be ready. It's strange that it's so hard to understand.

I think that, with a such project, Majsta and Kipper receive a lot of PM and emails by day. If they LOSE all their time for answering, where they're going to find time to work onto the boards?

.

I understand your point of view, as a hobbyist hardware maker, but again, you never thought this would be bigger. But why you didn't accept our help, and just Kipper instead / only? Didn't you risk Kipper could steel your work?

Peace.

Why you just accept he won't? I don't really get what your problem is. Do you always react like a small child when you do not get what you want or what you've probably suggested?
And writing to kipper an interest mail about a card does in fact mean nothing as long as he do not accept it and has given you a binding agreement/contract. Even if it takes long. If it's to long for
you, well, then your are free to cancel your interest and buy something from the professional Jens. Thats Business you might probably know... or not.

"A contract arises when the parties agree that there is an agreement. Formation of a contract generally requires an offer, acceptance, consideration, and a mutual intent to be bound. Each party to a contract must have capacity to enter the agreement. Minors, intoxicated persons, and those under a mental affliction may have insufficient capacity to enter a contract...."

Please guys don't let people bum you down by those who seems only want to threaten the project.
Keep up the good work. Sometimes things takes longer and you all prove that you have a lot of expertise and do not promise anything featurewise you are not able to carry out.

hi, just to set above post correct, it was 1NOM155 that stated that and not me

As I suspected this is pointless, pointing fingers for the mistakes both had made on this project, since they won't change what both already decided.
As well I stick with my idea even more now, special when there are people trying to make me the bad guy, when saw things are aren't done properly, and talked about it.

About this Kipper, I didn't express correctly, but what I tried to ask Majsta when he said about giving the material to make the card to other people (post #1270)
The reason why he didn't accept help from others , rather than you, when people told him was possible to mass produce the card in EU, any and again is pointless. both won't change your minds about.

So I'll stop with the off topic before Moderators decided to close the thread for indefinitely time.
Peace and good luck with the project.

This is where you're dead wrong. Email replies are NOT a luxury in business transactions. Any legitimate seller will take the time to keep their customers informed and updated.

@mario64: keep in mind the Apollo / Vampire team is not "in business", they are enthusiasts with a hobby. Meaning they are not obliged to give you support in any way...

I certainly understand the passion that everyone has about this topic, certainly speaks to the love of the Amiga in the first place. It reminds me of the countdown to Xmas when I was a kid. In this case, Xmas date was unknown prior, but now certainly in site, just more expensive. I appreciate the efforts that Majsta, Kipper2K, etc.. have been doing and can get past the initial shock of the news, and the reactions too.

At the end of the day, let's hope this means moving forward, the communication will be better and the follow-up products will get released sooner than later.

HI Kipper2k I know there are a lot of people not happy with how things are but dont let that you get you down son, The project is amazing and all those how get there boards say its worth the wait. I dont understand why people are so upset the amiga is over 30 years old you would of thought that we are experts on patience, Keep up the good work you and all the other team members :D

i will tell you the plan... i go through list, i allocate 100 requests, send people emails, give them 7 days to respond, order the boards after the 7 days, as soon as they are ordered i will allocate the next 100 requests and will continue this way until i reach the end of the list. (and for the misinformed, there s a full no charge warranty with it. one year, if it breaks after that, i will still fix it for a much smaller cost than anyone else will offer.)

the v500 is not up for preorder yet. whoever wins this will have the fastest public vampire available (it is faster than the v600 with the enhanced gayle logic)

It appears i constantly repeat myself, i cannot juggle my time enough to get everything done and satisfy everyone, no matter what i do there will always be complaints. If you sent me an email after preorders were opened then you are on the new list, the new list at http://www.apollo-accelerators.com/orders/index.php is in the same order that orders have been received,. no one has lost their place and after months of trying to keep up with demands it could not be done. Most people realise this, some not, juggling time is hard to do, i am not chained to my workshop hence the need to get these produced commercially now.I sound like a broken record repeating this all the time and tbh it is getting very tiring, when it stops being fun, it stops!

TL;DR

The changes in manufacturing and price are great news. I just wanted to make sure that I didn't lose my place in the queue.

Thanks for this. This was my only concern - if we lost our place in the queue with the new reservation system. I emailed you on February 9th and didn't hear back from you which was expected from what you and others said. I just wanted to make sure that I was still in the same place in the queue since I should now be near the top.

If we DID go to the Apollo site and registered interest there, did that erase me from where I was in the queue before?

Like I said a few days ago, I think this is the correct decision to have the boards commercially assembled. Hand assembly was just wearing you and Majsta out and was probably draining all the enjoyment from you, not to mention also losing money as part prices increased.

I also have already said that I don't have a problem with the new price. Like I said before, the previous price was ridiculously low and unsustainable. The new price is more appropriate though I still think it's a bit too low for what you get and to let you actually earn some money also.

Hi,

can you pm me your email so i can confirm. thanks

I'm not surprised that there is so much passion around this project given the fact that these computers that were discontinued decades ago still have such a loyal following. I'm in the same boat as everyone else in here, I expressed interest and have waited patiently for news. But, let's get real for a moment: this is a hobby for (almost) all of us. Who among us is not getting work done because they don't have a super fast Amiga? Who's family is going without food because the Vampire 2 has not shipped to everyone? Nobody. We all love our Amiga computers, but without the support of innovators like Majsta and Kipper2k, we would all still be chugging along at single-digit clock speeds and waiting for Workbench to draw all of the icons to the screen. These guys aren't going to get rich making a few thousand accelerators for us. They're hobbyists, just like us. Let's all just calm down and be grateful for the prospect of a commercially produced, high-quality product for our community... even if it costs a little more.

Out of 600 ppl who pre-ordered I see 10 people complaining.. What I *don't" see is the other 590 complaining. I'd say, that's a pretty good outcome ;-)

Cheers, now lets all go have a beer and relax. :p
