Kick ROM uploaded.
I used TotalCommander for the CRC & MD5 checksums. Just look under Files-Create Checksums. (Easy peasy :-))

Kickstart 3.1 uploaded, many thx for giving us this opportunity :) :D

One question: I bought two of the vampire cards. Its okay when you are going to flash my kick ROM image to both of the cards?

I am not clued up on this FTP thingy how do I upload ?, I don't understand how to do it lol

Me neither? I can upload to the FTP. I know how to check the CRC-32 number... but I don't know what rom to upload...is it the 3.1 rom for an A1200? Do I attach a text file with the CRC-32 info with it? Some, simple, advice regarding this would be helpful.

You need the kickstart 3.1 512kb from a A600 (or 500/2000) or from cloantos cd.

You can grab it with kick2f from aminet.

It will print the crc number.

You only need to upload the 512kb kickstart with matching number. You have a link with instructions on the first page.

Download an ftp client for your computer.

I used amitradecenter in my A600 :)

Login as anonymous. This is many times an option to check as anonymous. Then connect and upload

Trydowave. This answer is for all amibayers.
Thats why i explained things you allready know :)

I have to go the CD route as my A600 currently wont boot. I have brand new KS3.1 roms installed from Amigakit.

Im looking in my Cloantos Cd now and I can only see 3.1 KS roms for the A1200, A500, A3000, A4000 and CD32. Which one shall I pick?

I know how to do the FTP stuff.

Cheers

This is the FTP that I use supaduper... https://filezilla-project.org/

Once installed put this into Host: 174.5.66.205
Leave username and pass blank
type 21 in port

Then connect.

Hope this helps.

That one: http://cloanto.com/amiga/roms/getcrc/fc24ae0d.html (or, most likely, any A600 ROM from that page: http://cloanto.com/amiga/roms/ )

I don't really understand where the whole confusion comes from: just look on the files you legally own and find the one with the appropriate checksum. It does not matter if it was provided as rom for A600, as file for Amiga Forever Plus or just pulled from ROMs found in the dump somewhere. If SHA1 checksum matches the required one - then it's the file you need (CRC32 and other "small" checksums could be forged, SHA1 can not: that's the difference between normal checksum and cryptochecksum).

Khimru... you're making the assumption that I know what you're going on about. For example... this line:

"That one: http://cloanto.com/amiga/roms/getcrc/fc24ae0d.html (or, most likely, any A600 ROM from that page: http://cloanto.com/amiga/roms/ )"... What does all this mean!

How.. do I look at the files that I legally own!? Once I do that please tell me how to save it, what to save it as. (I know how to up load it).

In other words.. I simply asking for a step by step guide for all us Amiga users who were just gamers back in the day? Where's the confusion regarding that question?

...supaduper didn't know what FTP was... so I guided him to an FTP program.. told him where to enter the details etc. problem solved (I hope).

Also, another question: perhaps it'll be easier to just ship Vampire V2 as a package with physical ROM and matching firmware? I, for one, would like to upgrade my A600 to Cloanto's Kickstart ROM 3.X (available here, for example). This is basically Kickstart 3.1 with just enough upgrades to make large HDDs bootable. Official licensed product. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. This will be complete legal matching set of ROMs and Vampire V2 to install into any Amiga 600. Since this whole "dump, ship, check, verify and reverify" looks like a lot of pointless activity which still wouldn't make my 120GB SSD bootable :(.

I would gladly pay these 20€ or 25€ to avoid all the hassle if it'll give me the ability to use large HDDs/SSDs as a bonus .

There are bazillion programs which could calculate checksums, but if it's just one file then you could just check your file here.

Could someone please link me to a Windows program that I can use to verify the checksum?

Just use Totalcommander. It's a Norton Commander lookalike file manager with a lot of extras. You can do the checksum under files / create checksum. There also a FTP functionality in TC.

I send you by mp my paypal user address for my payment confirmation.

...I still don't know how to do this. Anyone?

If you got a kickstart files on cloanto cd. Just check one of them a500, a2000 or a600 rom file.

If you find the right checksum on one of those.
Check them with a software.
You have plenty of answers to that.

When you find the right rom file

Rename it to trydowave_kickstart3.1.bin then just upload it. They will put your file in a valid or a non valud folder. Just login in and se if it is in the valid folder later
