another 5 mins wasted not making vampire 2's :D

I want to say once more, please ppl don't send me PM to put you on the list, there is no way I can add someone and offering more money won't help also. Again, I don't have anything to do with kippper2k list and I don't have any kind of influence to it. I can't contact him for you or ask him to send you card faster. Don't send me messages that he didn't reply to you. I will probably help him later to clear few more lists but my priority is to clear this one first. I don't care that you are waiting for his reply for over month I have here people patiently waiting for an year not disturbing me in my work. I don't want to be rude or anything but this project took every minute of our lives so if we can work so much you can wait for his mail as long as it take. We have over 800 people now on several waiting lists. Either that or go and buy commercial products someone else make and be happy :)

Can this thread not be closed? It's like an somebody else's annoying child on a plane who just wants to make your journey a misery ;)

No - honestly - does it have a purpose anymore?

Hi Alan, I think this thread is necessary as long as the pre-order list is not executed.

All the best,

I just received my Vampire 2 from Majsta. Does anyone know where I can get the mounts that come with the Kipper2k package? I will need them when I install the Vampire 2.

All the best,

@MoRetro you got card with complete different PLCC socket than others received before. There are huge chances that you won't need those mounts at all. I m sending them with my packages also but have no idea what happened in your case. Those things are easy to build from some plastic or wood but like I said probably you don't need them.

Thanks Majsta,
There were no mounts in the package.
I will try to installatie it next week. Keep you posted.
Thanks for the awfull lot of work you've done on the Vampire2:thumbsup:

@Majsta: I've just read about the M:Tel Technology contest on your website.
What's this contest about and what can you win?
Can we help with votes in someway? :D

Received, tested and confirmed working (video out and sd-slot not tested yet).
What a fantastic product! Snapped right onto the CPU without any issues. Tested on two different A600's.
Leaving positive feedback right away.

@CrazyBob tnx it is technology contest about best blog based project in my country. You can't vote and prize is not much about 1500Eur but it gives you opportunity to cooperate with company for an year and that could be good because they have good technology and educated people working there.

@Neraka for video out and micro-sd you should search help on apollo-core forum or on irc but I have tested them and on my side they worked. You just need proper drivers.

Ok, I remember seeing it somewhere, but not sure where, can someone recommend an HDMI cable that has suitable clearance inside the 600 please? Would like to be ready when my Vampire arrives soon now.

Thanks

I have one of these (link) - it fits perfectly & they are available in different lengths.

@Majsta: that's an interesting contest, I hope you win.

Maybe add some new promotional pictures of the Vampire card in action to your original post on your website. It's better to make it as easy as possible for the jury.

Short question about the Vampire Black Edition, did I understood correctly the normal version has a Cyclone III FPGA ending with C8N and the Black Edition ends with C6N?
Is this the only difference or are the more differences?

C6N should in general be able to perform a little better, however this is not guaranteed and some 8s might run at speeds where most 6s cannot. The black editions can have either C6 or C8 chips as far as I understand, but they have all been verified to run at the advertised speed. The effective speed also depend on the memory on the board and not all memory chips can run at the high speed.

Well. What can I say. I played a few games last night! Geoff Crammond F1 is amazingly smooth, as is Frontier ;) a great card. The little 600 has just become my main Amiga.

Received mine today, tested so far with my amiga 1200 amikit real setup compactflash card, work buts need to make new hdd setup for vampire with all its drivers etc

Card received today and is working! Unbelievable piece of hardware. However, took me 3h with sand paper and screwdriver to get it working. Important hint from kipper2k was the right screw should not be fully screwed in, otherwise the board bends and (or least for me) is only beeping but not working. Is that normal? Or does my board have cold soldered connections?
