Why did you buy your first Amiga??

I bought my first Amiga, and the following ones I've had during the years, mainly for my passion of music :)
Today I have an A500 in my studio, plugged into the mixer :) The classic Amiga has a special place in my heart.

I encountered Amiga for the first time around 1989 and the interrest in creating music using Amiga computers started to rise within me back then.
Around 1991-1992, I started to create music using an A500 together with a friend, and in 1993 I bought my first own Amiga :)

I bought my first Amiga - An A1000, in 86.

Why... quite simply the boing ball animation!

Me and my friends spent hours and hours getting up to mischief with our miggys, we were "into" hacking and phone phreaking and spent £100's connected to BBS's, at one point we even attempted to solder our serial ports to CB radios to try and transfer data (never worked).
Why not to do it these days again? :)
As for me, back in the days i never had Amiga, but speccy. Most folks around had speccy too and tiny minority of Atari and MSX were sort of God's LOL. I saw miggy in some catalogues, but at the uni we had PC, so that's it.
Time flies fast, boy(me) grown and didn't join "death race" of FPS and polygones.
What is attract me in low-MIPS(i hate "retro computing" term) computers is simplicity.
Make long story short - i've got my first Amiga couple months ago, because i never had one.

I got one back in `87, we had just moved to P.A. in the States and the West Chester factory was quite close to us, so were very lucky to have one of the early A500 delivered with a Commodore monitor, I can still remember the excitement of the delivery as the boxes piled on top were taller than me, never looked back since then, but since moving to Japan it has been hard finding the time and space for the Amiga ... maybe it`s time to move back to the UK hehe.

I bought my Amiga 500 from my aunt a good deal later beginning of the 90's.

I couldn't afford a new one back in the days, the C64II was already a hard task to buy new, but an A500 was impossible for me.
I was a student back in the days, so lack of funds always.

i bought an amiga because it was a real computer at the time and did what it said out the box.it wasent my first computer that was a c64 that i had to save up for, that took me about two months to get lol.
i dident save up for the amiga at all i just bought it from woolworths as i was passing by lol.

first game i tried was f18 interceptor.

i liked using protracker, from floppy lol.stereo was a novelty for me at the time.

i liked the real multitasking, raytracing later on in the amigas life everything about the machine was easier than on a pc clone at the time.(some of it still is!)

loved delux paint, many an hour(and days sometimes using that program)

infact there was an absolute ton of software available for it(still is if you look hard anough)

there is lots you can still do on an amiga,if your willing to put the time into it.
anything i did on that machine was so much fun back then.

Bought my Amiga 500 in 1989. I was only 8 at the time but I remember it like it was yesterday!! I already had an Amstrad CPC464 at the time but the Amiga was a whole new experience for me... :D

The games and awesome stereo sound we're so cool to look & hear that I just HAD to have one of those lovely A500's one of me buddies had. I also liked the disks type more than the C-64 ones (smaller and more robust feel).

Just thinking of Garrison & Alien Syndrome, Captain Fizz, Pandora... ahhh those we're the days

I never had one back in the day. My mate had a c64 and then one day his dad got an a500.
I still remember the awe when we first got to play on it. Once it finally made its way into my mate's room we got to spend far too much time playing puzzle bobble, xenon II, projectyle, and F/A 18 as well as wings......

Saw a picture of an a500 earlier and just got back that feeling of awe. Always wanted a miggy but could never even get close to affording one.

Then saw one on ebay this year and well the rest is history....

octamed was the reason i 1st got an amiga.
