Most people I know have looked at their options and have already decided to spend the money on buying a kickass PC instead, unless something major gets announced.

Intel's Haswell chips are looking like they're worth the money a lot more to me...

Yep, gonna be a profitable few years for me this gen. Already had 3 requests off of friends to either build or revamp their systems for them based on these.

Curiously, they all said they'll buy a wiiu.. When some games are out for it.

I can really see why this gen it might be PC/steam with Wii U as the popular combo.

Reviving this, anyone know what ninty is up to lately? I may be out of touch, but I've heard nothing of them since the U's launch.

They've admitted that they haven't been marketing it properly, sales figures have dropped right off (they sold about 10 units worldwide yesterday).

But they are sticking to their 90 million sales prediction for the year which is quite bizarre and not entirely believable. Actually it could be 9 million, either way it will be tough to achieve those figures. They've basically lost 3rd party support so they are going to concentrate their efforts on 1st party games.

I personally think they've already missed the boat because the new XBOX/PS consoles are about to launch which will steal media attention away from the Wii U. Another concern for Nintendo is that the Wii U will probably end up regarded as 'last-generation' compared to the new boys.

The DS is still selling well and that's the only thing keeping Nintendo in the black at the moment.

Sucks for them. I guess even though they went HD this gen, they're still a gen behind the tech. Ninty seem to be sliding into the middle ground between things like the Ouya and the big consoles.

Yep, things aren't looking too promising for it unfortunately. Shame as it is one of the best controllers I've used for a long time, marathon gaming sessions don't cramp my hands up like the 360 and ps3 controllers do and believe it or not, the electric bill is signifigantly cheaper running 2 of these than the 2 ps3's we used to use in the house.

Seems for 3rd party support it's ok this Christmas...after that, unless the 3rd parties sells millions of games, they will be dropping support :(

Am I destined to buy either a PS4 or Xbox One? I dunno, I like the look of both of them, but I refuse to pay a subscription fee to play a game online/ unlock all of the hardwares features.

If only Nintendo and sega would partner up properly, create a dreamcast 2 and be done with it. Would sell like hot cakes nowadays :D

They really should outbid Sega for Atlus and have the most coveted platform by nerds everywhere - including me

They still haven't announced who won the bid yet afaik, around 20 companies put bids in, never know ;)

Irrelevant, but "to be this good, will take Sega ages". ;)

I know, but I doubt they even put one in. Also would be quite awkward for them to have games in retail and in development for other platforms than their own too
