Don't know if this helps your quest, but Adaptec rebranded and sold this cable as the Adaptec MiniSCSI APA-1350. Works with the Shuttle EPST chipset drivers. Cable looks identical and even has the same EPST label with serial number on the parallel connector.
The comp.sys.apple2 Usenet group is still pretty active. If you don't have NNTP access, you can get it from Google Groups: http://groups.google.com/group/comp.sys.apple2/topics
I was there for the talk. My Amiga 4000 now has a signature on the front panel. :) I also had a chat with him afterwards about various things. Cool guy to talk to. Bill Herd was also a hoot to talk with. He did a course on CRT repair that weekend.
(sorry about bumping this thread)
bitcpy,
The BB1054F board is likely some sort of VTR interface/control system using VideoMedia's "VLAN" communications system. Seeing that it is an ISA card, it likely uses the RS-232 serial ports for communication with the Amiga. Such systems were common with...
The GBS is suffering from poor upscaling plain and simple. The more expensive units usually don't suffer that moire effect on desktop backgrounds. Heck, the TVs upscaler is doing a better job with the direct SCART RGB input. Amazing considering how cheap the upscalers usually are in TVs. The...
Do you mean RTL8139D?
Windows for Workgroups 3.11 does not normally require DOS device drivers for networking.
I found this driver for WfW 3.11 and your card: http://www.claunia.com/qemu/drivers/wfw_8139.zip
The first thing to try is disabling EMM386 by REMing its line out in config.sys and...
I was the one that made the video review above. The recap service was fast and friendly. If you are in the US, this is the "go to" service for capacitor replacement as shipping is much cheaper with no need to worry about customs.
Charles also had no problem with properly installing the caps in...
If you are handy with a soldering iron, you could swap out the 120VAC guts for a 240VAC unit and wire in a motherboard connector. Another popular option is to make an adapter to connect an AT power supply to the unit. That way you move the heat of the power supply out of the case. The stock IIgs...
Fully electric ovens run on 240VAC@50amps here in the US, so it'll work somehow.
Its odd reading that people can't get folks to ship over EU borders. Denmark isn't that far from the UK and shipping should be reasonable... in theory.
Those customs forms are very annoying. I will ship internationally, but it has to be small stuff. The big stuff costs a lot in postage, plus its more likely to be damaged in transit. I also don't sell on that big other-bay site because of their "buyer friendly" policies. If I did, there would be...
The machine won't boot with the card installed? Yikes. These cards are pretty passive from what I can determine. They don't autoconfig, and they remain transparent to the system until you run the software, which activates genlock mode.
Make sure the cards are firmly in the slot and screwed in...
Byte Magazine here in the US ran an article on the Amiga 4000D and 3000T in the January 1993 issue page 239.
Grab it here (warning LARGE 315MB PDF): ftp://helpedia.com/pub/archive/temp/Byte/Uploads%202013/BYTE-1993-01.pdf
The Internet Archive hosts a very comprehensive collection of Amiga...
