ide/8mb adapter

ide/8mb adapter

Hello All, I will make some more boards, but, I must say there are better
pieces of hardware available.....the 8mb ram board from Kipper2K in Canada
auto-configs.....Mika Leinonen's ide interface auto-boots.....both pieces of
hardware are cheap too!!!!....the board i made is a little smaller...but
it does not auto-anything!!!! I think I read somewhere that these 2 pieces
were being combined...I did place an order for 3(samples) A1000 kickstart adapters and 3 boards that allow the you to boot your amiga from an external drive....it just swaps the DS0 and DS1 lines. My internal floppy drive is getting "tired" There was one other piece of hardware I made just to see if it could be done....it is a battery backed chip ram board..the idea was to be able to have my A500 auto-boot from RAD: instead of a floppy when I power it up. it does work, but, the floppy emulator from Lotharek is better.
Anyway, just my 2c

Interested in KS adapter too !!

However I won't be interested anymore into the RAM/IDE board (thought that it was autoboot/config).

Not too bothered with not having autobooting on the amiga 1000 as l will boot from lotareks hxc when l get one. A good way to replace aging floppy drives. I should be able to mount the ide drive after bootup right? This would make the 1000 a lot more convenient to use.

Funky thought for the day: how about a non volatile ram disk to do the same job? Maybe 40Mb in size to hold a bundle of applications. Boot from hxc, mount ram disk and use applications. Just a lazy thought.

Still interested in the ram/ide board.
