Well, I think that adapter does not need modification. Just plug it in. (leaving that 4-pin power header unconnected)

Hi,

Are there any of the ide68k (or cfide) adapters left? I'm interested in one.

Cheers,
Thomas

Not sure if this was asked or discussed already, but how do you go about making the FLOPPY LED light up when Hard Disc access is on?

I thought id fixed my IDE68k speed issues but I clearly havent, even with PFS3 installed both my 4GB CF cards are dead slow - Im getting 21,000bytes per second transfer from my Floppy drive and 5,500bytes per second transfer from my CF Cards. I've even installed IDEFix97 and it hasnt made any real difference and either does boosting the buffer sizes. :(

Anyone got any idea's?

Damn, that is jacked up bro. Are you the only one that has this issue? I would get a replacement board asap!

is this thread for discussing issues of the bought adapter?

nevertheless: i don't think it's a hardware fault, then nothing would work or irregular errors appear.

Yes I think it is. Unless everyone wants to start another thread for troubleshooting and questions for this particular adaptor.

Agreed, dont see why the thread cant be for sales and service - only issue is Mika seems to ignore most posts with issues. :(

Yeah im not sure what the issue is but it was far far worse with FFS than PFS3 and I dont see anyone else reporting the same issues.

I have a replacement Rev8a board coming (have been using a Rev6a) and if the issue continues I'm calling HW fault.

Hi, check /int2 and /ovr connections, see a previous message in thread a while back, where that was the issue. V401 and v402 connections differ.

Try and connect secondary LED+ signal to pin 8 of keyboard header connector (in case of v401/v402 and Amiga 500)
Or connect LED- to a 4k7 resistor and the other end to base of Q503 transistor on a500 (reference: rev5 schematic). Btw. To find which transistor pin is base, note that R504 is 4k7 the 'original' resistor for Q503 base drive and it's other end connects to _MTR0, pin 6 on U38 74LS38.

Hi Mika, Mines a v402 and the /int2 and ovr connections work fine - the leads are short and if they are around the wrong way or disconnected I have no IDE at all.

Btw, My unit only has pins on the secondary connectors.

EDIT: a few folks have suggested i get an el cheapo 1GB card and try that so I'll post back when the one i just ordered shows up.

Try connecting /int2 to "primary" /int2 output.
Some cpld's were programmed with code revision where secondary wasn't working.
Slowness can be because Cf drive doesn't alert the ide driver by interrupt once it's ready to transfer data. I imagine that the driver would wake up because of other device is using /int2, maybe the other Cia chip.
