Mkl, for that setup, do I need a specific cpu riser? My concern is if the top A500 fit and close ok... Will a kipper2k CPU riser suffice?

There might be something with the version "3003" cpld that doesn't work with other amiga mainboards, but tested to be working with the one test a500 mainboard.
New cpld code put to http://mkl211015.altervista.org/ram68k/

8mb board arrived a few days ago. everything looks in order, i just need to get some time to install this puppy! will try it in a 1000 first to see if it works there. if not, going in a 500.

If 8MB board led lights up and Amiga resets, in loop, it is because rev. "3003" cpld code isn't compatible with (most) Amigas.
Reflashing the cpld with newer code should fix this. Required is Xilinx jtag cable and software. LPT jtag is cheap, USB cable cost more.

Cool, I'll report back with what I find. I don't have JTAG cable, but will pick one up if it fails in either system and then give it a go. Thanks!

I think it should work in A1000. If it doesn't, there is some problem with the design of the ram board or the cpld code design.

OK, if you can wait, I'll definitely get to it this Sunday -- I'll have time to carefully "pop the hood" on the 1000 and install the 8MB RAM expansion and a KS switcher. Sounds like a fun afternoon.
