Okay as per the subject. Looking to add an extra molex connector like you find on the Firebird Prometheus Daughterboard.
Reason for this, is that in one of my A4000 Desktop setups, I have a Mediator MKIV Daughterboard. But have noticed that with a Voodoo 3, x-surf100, gottagofast3r 256MB Z3 and a Spider-II USB card. I get issues with the Spider-II disconnecting itself and going offline. Also when trying to use tested and working Voodoo 4 cards, they don’t get detected. Yet works fine with Prometheus with the added molex power.
Anyone know a way to add extra power to the mediator Daughterboard directly? As I suspect this is my issue.

My current setups all use ATX Corsair 450 or 600 SFX PSU’s with power converter adapters for the A4000.

Note: I already have a couple of Prometheus Cards (V1.0 and 1.1). This setup with the mediator has a Cyberstorm and AmigaOS 4.1FE setup. Therefore why the ask.

Cheers 🍻

Yeah, I thought the same reading about the issues.
Same happens when I introduce a RapidRoad USB onto the X-surf. The white light on the RR goes on and then off and on again etc..
A missed opportunity by Elbox here, especially as a few of the 3rd party daughter boards you can buy now include a separate power connection either by molex or berg connector.

I have the mkI and that has 3x 5v lines, 2x ground and a not-required 3v line.
Does the mkIV have the same?

It’s the latest one one by Elbox with 3Volts.

Looks like with a little luck and this just dropped onto my YouTube feed by @GadgetUK this is the way to go.
A new 5V regulator. Why in earth have Elbox not addressed this issue?

This is very interesting, I don't have this version but I have the elbox tower version MKIII and sometimes it throws a wobbly I wonder if this is the reason it happens.

It’s a possibility. I also have the Towered version but yet to get it installed as I’m still looking for the E/Box MK1 case.

If yours is not in a case maybe you can confirm the part number on the regulator to see if it is the same as he shows on the original one he takes off.

I will be taking mine apart at some point to install the kicksmash but its the same old same old, finding the time.

Will do. Ah! Time for getting Stuff done, know that feeling 😉

I also don't like taking it apart because every time I put it back together, its like, nope don't want to start and then I'm there for ages trying to work out what's causing the conflict and panicking what have I broke

@Timtheloon pictures if the 2 original power regulators.

Top = 4000Di Tower mediator
Bottom = 40000D Daughterboard replacement Mediator.

Just got the new regulators from Mouser so will be sending these off to Hese to replace 🤞🏻
