Try VGA-friendly modes like DblPAL, DblNTSC and/or Productivity (if you have the correct chipset)
You should get a full picture
Rev 5 A500 with 1 MB Agnus so not possible. A bit curios though why I get this magenta screen while the image is perfectly stable. Nothing wrong with the cable, works fine with other setups. Somehow it seems the green channel is missing. A bit sad since I had hopes that this monitor (BenQ G2420HDB) might work since other closely related ones do.
There could be the remote chance (just to consider all possibilities) your adapter was damaged in transit
and a cold solder disconnected a pin on the filter chip.
Just to exclude the case, you could try to "push down" the chips (pressing them towards the pcb) with your finger (with the adapter connected, no risk to damage anything) and see if the magenta turns into full color or not.
Let me know, just in case it will be an easy fix. Never happened until now, but I want to be sure having considered all possible cases![]()
