You appear to have lost me off of the list in the first post (for 1 kit) :o

This adapter runs fine with the 3640 board, no?
Yes, it does. But don't expect too much speed gain, because Fast RAM access still goes through the motherboard bottleneck.

One small hint on assembling the adapter: Be careful and don't use too much solder on the pins, otherwise you might run into contact problems (I had to rework my adapter twice). Instead of mounting all those single pins you may also use 68040 sockets, which are available pretty cheap on Ebay (I paid around 12€ for two sockets). This will make the adapter a real big tower but assembling the whole thing is much less painful ;)

Remember to use a heatsink for the 68060.

In case someone's looking for a 68060 for this project. There was a pretty good deal over at WoldemortBay. It's BIN. I purchased one.

Link, please? not found with google (just two mentions at Amibay)
Hover your mouse over "deal". ;)

Would it be possible to use just the same kind of socket headers for the 68040 as Mozart has used for the 68060 in the link at the first posting?

Wait; let's hold on for a minute. While I appreciate your effort, please go with the revised boards, not the orginal.
The original do not fit well on for instance Cyberstorm cards!
And seeing you now have so much interest, I think you can get these boards made much cheaper!
Let's make this a team effort, anyone that knows a cheap manufacturer please rise!
Please let me know your thoughts on these two points...

Also; anyone buying this, please be aware it is not a drop in replacement, you will need to do some hacking your system (bootstrap) for your machine to even boot!!
