I've been having the PiPo UP-U1 coming to me from China since September 11th (this year and not the WTC disaster). Ok specs and Jellybean for about 120€ delivered plus customs and VAT. Only thing is that it is yet to arrive. Customer service told me to contact them again if it hasn't arrived on Oct 30th. I'm just wondering if I should give them a second chance or demand a refund and get a Nexus 7 instead from an European dealer.

I got my Onda VI40 Ultimate straight from China, too, from a crowd called Chinistore. I chose the cheapest shipping option as I didn't have much money at the time - and that particular option was to use China's own postal system. Once the package leaves China, the tracking system will not update until it arrives in the country of destination, which is very annoying. I had to wait some time before getting mine, but it did arrive eventually, very well packaged and protected from careless postal workers and whatever else it may have encountered.

So continue twiddling your thumbs for a while longer, and it should be arriving soon!
Well five days to go until my set deadline closes. Crap, its already over 45 days as I chose Paypal as payment method. Hopefully that won't be an issue, if I choose to ask for a refund. The other option for them is to re-send using a proper courier. Their customer service said that customs is holding up stuff. Wonder what customs that might be?

The big area that the Mac lacks is emulation and some games and hacking tools. I use a PC for those and I can see why people buy pc's. Mac will never replace pc's in the main because windows is the default os.
...
Fanboi ? Yes I suppose I am. I enjoy Amiga products and I enjoy apple products , I can't say the same for windows sadly.

I don't think Apple intend to make Macs "mainstream" as in replacing pcs. Apples machines have always been up market. But they have gone a long way with making the iPad become a mainstream item.

i have to agree with your comments on Android, to date its always left me disapointed as it feels like its slightly cobbled together.

Up until 2.2, yes. But 4.x is just great. It was what android needed to feel complete. And not just some engineers hobby project.

That's got to be irritating, I remember the wait for my own. If it's being held up in customs, I'd say wait a little longer, though you may be liable for a small customs charge - I consider myself lucky that I wasn't. Not the best way of purchasing a tablet, but eh, even with the charge, it's cheap.

Finally got my Mini Ipad last Friday, and after a week's use, here's my mini review:

I ordered the Mini having already got the 1st Gen Ipad which the whole family uses mainly for browsing when watching TV and as the XBMC remote / SKY+ remote. Having got XBMC upstairs now too, I thought it would be nice to not have to keep dragging the iPad up and downstairs (lazy old me...).

So what do I think ?

On opening, first impressions are, it's very small. However, when you lift it up, it feels very well built, and solid - typical Apple build quality. The screen, though not retina - is sharp and clear - the denser pixel count definitely helps - its clearer than the 1st gen that's for sure.

It's quick too - browsing is a pleasure due to the Wireless N and the extra memory onboard, and the camera is good if not spectacular. Facetime works as designed so now, during my many hours away from home, I can see my family without them having to resort to a laptop! And it all just WORKS!

Battery life is tremendous - I've brought it away with me, not switched the power off at all and its still on the same charge from Sunday - just what you want.

I also bought the (way over priced) cover, but its actually very clever - closing it puts the ipad in standby, and its VERY easy to clip on and off.

Finally:

After using it for a week and then picking up the old Ipad, I don't want to go back - the old one now feels heavy and cumbersome - infact, I'll probably be selling it and buying another one of these. The size is ideal, the text pin sharp, in fact, I 'd say its the best Ipad yet. Sorry if its not what youApple haters want to hear, but it is what it is !

Now just lower the price to £200 Apple ?

I don't mind paying the customs but apparently it has not reached the Finnish customs office or otherwise they would've informed me about it. It is lost somewhere else.

I should probably open my own thread for this. Still, no tablet. :( Apparently, it's on its way back to them from the logistics company. For the whole month I've been asked to wait for a few days more and they will give me a solution. Their solution seems to be to give it a few days more. :double
I've now asked them to cancel my order and issue a refund. If that won't work, I'm going to open a dispute at Paypal even though it has been more than 45 days. At least the transaction id is still visible in the dispute section. If that won't help, I'll contact my credit card company.

Let's see how this turns out.
